Just noticed this new build bock of flats near my home.
The dish looks like it's pointing at the wall can't see how they could get a signal here.
However it is protected from the wind!

THere's also no cable running from the LNB.

Perhaps one crew sticks it all up, and another guy goes round adjusting.
 
Can't see any cable connected to either the dish or the aerial.....that might be a slight problem......strange as the dish and the LNB (Black Ultra twin?) looks a decent piece of kit.

(edit : beaten to it by a pro!!)
 
Looks like a Quattro, which would make sense, but obviously hasn't been aligned yet, as Gameboy knows where it is, he can get a rough idea of where the dish should point using Dishpointer.

Its common for the larger companies to set the rigs up like this.

They send the monkey boys round to stick the dish up and then the commissioners allign the dish and aerial and set the rest of the system up.

It looks quite a rough installation to me. T & K the wrong way round and using 1.25" mast to hold the dish up, very dodgy. No FM or DAB either.

I also want to know how they are intending for the person who commissions it to connect the aerial up, unless they are planning to use a cherry picker to do it or by using low hanging sky hooks :-lol

Judging by how iffy it is I wauld hazzard at a guess that it may have been the company i used to work for until i noticed they appear to be using fairly good kit, so thats them out, although the work does appear to be upto their usual crappy standard. :-lmao

My dish is just up the road and I cannot see how they can view the {astra} satellites - was passing when it just triggered 'what the heck'.

I agree that no cable appeard to be linked however why would you set this up without checking the signal?
 
Dunno about the aerial, but dish wise, a survey by the non monkey before installation would reveal which side of the property it should be on for a signal to be possible.

The dishes are usually put up by un skilled and untrained individuals who are too thick to figure out how to use a meter, that used to be the case where i used to work :D

It sounds more and more like the monkies i used to work for :-lmao

They used to have a bunch of scousers who were just in it for the money. No quality checks were ever made on their work by management so they got away with it.

Many a time i got to a dish where it was physically impossible to allign without having to poke it over the top of the roof or moving it to another part of the building :D

If i was very lucky they may have been put up to standard where they weren't dangerous although unfortunately that didn't happen very often :-DOH!

I'm glad i don't work for them any more :-away
