Lost DB connection after new router set up

Hi guys..
Ran into a problem after changing my wireless router....
My previous setup...Wireless router provided by my ISP with WEP encryption (I know) and Linksys WAP (which picked up the signal)hard connected to my Dreambox (clone)
My current Setup..D-link wiireless router/acces point (WPA encryption)and still have my Linksys WAP connected, but since the new setup I can't get my Dreambox's IP address and cant find out how to manually input it into the DB..I'm using Nab BH 12..any ideas?
 
Is your new setup using a different address range? Something like 192.168.0.0 instead of 192.168.1.0.

As far as I can remember, to manually set the IP address on most Dreambox images, go to Setup -> Expert -> Communications.

Is the radio connection between your Linksys and D-link working properly?
 
Is your wireless bridge (linksys) capable of WPA? If its an older model you might have to update the firmware, but compufunk is almost certainly correct to say check your ip range. Also make sure you have the subnet set the same in both devices eg 255.255.255.0
 
Hi andel..you could be right there about the firmware of the Linksys access point...as far as I know it does'nt support WPA..I'll check that out and reply later..

I've tried doing what you are doing using quite a lot of different routers. Its hard to find one that can do it whilst using WPA encryption.

A Linksys WRT54G does it quite well whilst using DD-WRT's third party software. Depending on your Lynksys model, you might be able to flash it with a flavour of DD-WRT (Linux firmware).

Setting it up is a little fiddly. You have to set it up in 'Client Bridge' mode and match the following.....
Encryption system.
Wireless Channel
Authentication credentials.....

as well as disabling DHCP and setting up the networking side of things.
