hi im trying to get my channels back again after the strong winds we had in Aberdeenshire, (lost the lot),problem is ive set up my motor to the correct long and lat get a lock on to thor 6 but only a few channels picked up unlike before when i picked up loads, tried using sat finder get strong signal after a slight adjustment only to find when turning on reciever again still the same, been at it for days begining to loose hope just wondering if support bracket is off plumb or something would this explain why im off by so little ?)(-red

If you nudge it east/west a few clicks it might come back if the dish has just slipped round the axle slightly.

Another possibility is that the dish has moved in the vertical direction.

In either case you will need to get the spanners out and do some adjustments.

Plumbness of pole isn't your issue as Thor is near the top of the arc. The whole thing's probably gone round the pole a bit and you need to get out and fix/adjust it. Look at the motorized dish setup guides.

Just check the wall mount incase but I doubt the pole has moved in the t&k brackets that's if you using those.

on my diseqc system the dish would move on the motor mount more in strong winds, so check the dish is centred on the motor mount.

Also the dish elevation may have moved too so check this too, you will see with the marks on the elevation scale if it has.

hi guys been out at this dish most of the day again getting a lock on to one transponder at around 80% but only 7 tv channels nothing else im on thor 2/3 intelsat 10-02 (1.0w) then move to 19.2 only getting about 32 tv channels mainly sky & bbc pretty new at this motorised stuff any suggestions or is it a case of keep trying.

You are way out .......... Sky + BBC are at 28.2/28.5E, not 19.2E

I suggest you stop, do something else until morning, then read the Forum Guides and the instruction leaflet for your Motor.

Do as wod suggested and check the dish is correctly mounted "fore and aft" on the stub then leave it be.

Check Motor Latitude scale (ignore any "Elevation" scale is set to 50 odd.

Align for azimuth by moving motor/dish as one piece around the pole and for elevationby tweaking the dish bracket.

LNB should have no skew applied.

hi thanks for your help this may sound stupid but when you say move dish in one piece around pole do you mean round the motor pole or round shaft pole:-DOH!

Consider the dish and motor as one "block" ............. so to align the system for Azimuth, you slacken the clamps holding the motor to the fixed vertical pole that the motor is attached too.

ok im definately on 19.2 but only picking up astra 1kr 10788.00v no other channels being picked up

if you can receive that tp of 19e then you should really be able to pickup all the rest.

have you done a proper channel scan and select an NIT search to update your transponder list on the receiver

whats NIT search i can see onit and ive ticked it on but there seems to be no difference, ive noticed when watching the scan some of the percentage bars shoot up to 79% but wont seem to lock on to a tp
