So did anyone see Derren Brown predicting the six numbers of the Lotto draw last night? Anyone got an theories, or are even bold enough to suggest they KNOW how he did it?

I've no doubt at all that there's some trickery behind it and he didn't really predict the numbers, but I can't offer up a suggestion to how it was done?

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

You've already said he didn't predict the numbers , so , it wasn't done.

Sky+ Pace v3, and before that analouge 80cm dish with Prima by Pace box pointed at 19.2e (not very imaginative then!)

I didn't see it, but apparently he might have been taking advantage of the delay between analogue and digital tv.

Most likely, but only if he was granted access to the numbers after the BBC (rights) and then confirmed he was not allowed to reveal his sources, or some other such trickery.

have to agree that the most likely explanation was the split screen method, and tonight he just showed us another method (or two methods if you include the last option he gave!) of how it could have been done.

notice how even the volunteers did not see the predictions for the main "draw"
and how one of the balls "jumps" very slightly when the split is removed....

rememeber his show is based on deception, misdirection and suggestion...

You can be sure that all the bull about the theory of crowds and automatic writing has nothing to do with it. Thats all misdirection as mentioned above.

All the example explanations leading up to the explanation used humans. Manipulation of people is what he does best, so this proves nothing.

What seems far more interesting to me is what seems to be the basis of next weeks show. He intends showing a subliminal film that will glue you to your seat.

Interesting to anyone who wants to be sure that they are not easily manipulated.

Influencing people and predicting their reactions is the type of thing is what he does best. Sticking to variants of that would be much more interesting than grand tricks where there is obvious deception.

The time he set up an arcade game in a pub to knock a person into a catatonic state was one of the best/scariest things I've seen.

Anyone stuck to their seats? It didn't work for me, but the other half says it did for about a minute.

I wasn't trying to resist and went along with it all, but nada.
