Yes they work together, but some have experienced lockups when changing encryptions. Might be worth looking at the Matrix Reloaded, does everything the MM does and a bit more, plus people are actively working on software upgrades.

I too have a Manhattan 5500 and I've just borrowed a Magic cam. I'll let you know if its successful.

I have a question for you actually.

My receiver picks up programmes that are 'pre programmed' ok. However, when I manually input frequencies and I need to add the pid's the picture is ok until I press 'select'. Thereafter I lose sound and vision.

Have you encountered this?

Grateful for any help. Steve Thomas.

Sounds as though it's not saving the new settings Steve. Are you entering the APID, VIDPID and SID?

Hit the nail on the head!

I am entering all 3 and the picture and sound is great, just all the menus still on the screen. i hit select, the receiver goes thro the update mode and on completion the screen goes blank. Sometimes I hear a bit of sound.

I wonder if the memory is corrupt or you have a firmware problem. Can you update the firmware over the air? One other thought....have you reached your storage limit.
Channel Hopper on this site may have some ideas about Manhattans.

Hi Network75

Its been a long time since I worked on the 5500

When manualy introducing PIDs into the receiver, a new channel is created at the end of the list, the old channel should really be deleted as it serves no useful purpose and the new channel renamed.

As for MM Cams in older Manhattans, the advice is to borrow one to try first, the 2500 series cannot work with them, and the 5500 shares a number of similar components.

Jimbo & Channel Hopper

Thanks for the good advice. I'm going to look to update the firmware - thats seems a good place to start.

Its not out of memory 'cos I reset the factory default.Channel Hopper may be on to something about deleting the channel. When I was having difficulty with TV Sport RO it was only until I deleted the original channel it would accept the new PIDs.

I'll have a crack later - when I finish work !

I feel happier knowing that someone else has experienced the same problem.

If I dont have any success in the next few days I think I will be trading up as well.
