My Satellite Setup
120cm offset dish+manhattan plaza st500,
but would like to upgrade my system to receive freesat UK in the South of Italy.
My Location
TURI (BARI), APULIA, SOUTH ITALY
Hi everybody,
I own since some years ago, a digital receiver that is a Manhattan Plaza ST500 and was wondering if it's good for driving a Andrews 1.8 + 18"HD actuator, and if will operate good also for C-band.
Do you think is should I buy a new powerful one or it's ok also with my new system (1.8 Andrews, 18" HD actuator)???

Shouldn't have any problem driving your dish with it. The positioner can deliver 5A to your actuator. I would be very surprised if it didn't work C-band too.

Thank u so much Llew. I'm a bit more relaxed now.
Just one more question: how about SMW dishes?are them high gain ones?
 
The SMW range of dishes have long been out of production. You would be very lucky if you could find one now. Always worth checking on an auction site occasionally I suppose.

OA-1200 42.2dB

OA-1400 43.3dB

OA-1600 41.1dB (Multifocus dish)

All at 12GHz.
