Wondering if anyone can help please, 1.1 meter dish and a dm800 working ok but when I use positioner setup I can get much stronger signals for particular sats than the Usals do, is there any way to reprogram the usals?

Hope this makes sense.
Steve.

Well if USALS isn't accurate, and you have checked that your Lat/Long are correctly entered, it's likely you have a small alignment error.

This is overcome to a large extent when you use manual positions as you are effectively compensating.

The way I deal with this in USALS is to slightly alter the inputted Longitude by a few tenths either way (experiment will soon tell you which way). Works a treat every time my patio mounted 1.1m shifts a little in the wind.

But in the long term, the answer is to realign the dish - clearly it isn't far out, though.

Thanks, how do I use manual positions ?
Latest PLi Image if that helps any.

I thought you were?

I have no knowledge of Dreamboxes, so if I misinterpreted part of your original Posts, I can't really help .............

......... But, have you tried a small adjustment to USALS Longitude?

eg If you have 1.1W entered (I assume you aren't that far from me), first try 1.3W, then try 0.9W.

See which is better, then tweak it a tenth at a time for optimum.

Edit: Upon re-reading, I presume what you were doing is driving it a little E or W from wherever USALS landed. My advice still applies.

To adjust and save DiSEqC 1.2 positions, its menu, setup, service searching, positioner. From here you can pan the dish and save POS using the coloured buttons.

Try the USALs adjustment first as above.

Hmmm just looking at my settings and I have this:

Should that East part be West ?

Hi ftm2008

In the sat finder goto the sat wanted and manually move the dish to the best position and store it and record on paper for later use once all sat's are correctly stored go into service setting and using diseqc 1.2 manually assign each sat via the stored numbers on the paper using the configuration check the manual for the correct way to set the tuner.

It should be set to YOUR longitude.

You can look it up on dishpointer.com

Failing that, post your location up and we can check.

Latitude: 54.9044°
Longitude: -1.3815°

So, 1.38W

The clue was "near me .....", hence a degree or so West.

But SM has given you the exact figure, so is all now well?
