Somewhere in England (possibly?)!
Quite a clever blend of existing and coming tech with commentaries from current luminaries and entrepreneurs (such as Elon Musk, the guy behind TESLA cars and the Space-X reusuable orbital delivery vehicles), and of "relative" flights of fancy as to what could be done in the future, and with quite an engaging sub-plot about the problems that the crew of the first manned journey to the Red Planet run into - with the proverbial "cliff-hanger" ending. Certainly worth looking at the next one next Sunday (especially now that the "Poldark" and "Victoria" period "sitcoms" - which SWMBO enjoyed but I "avoided" - have now finished :) )

Nat Geo Wild had a "Mars" specials day yesterday - and that was part of it - but there were also some other good ones like "Earth Two" about the evacuation of a small proportion of the population to another star system because of the impending arrival of a Neutron Star in the Solar System and the consequent complete destruction of the Earth and, probably, most of the other planets.

Not sure about naming the ship Daedalus, but I'll look at the content over the weekend.

You do have a "point", and I have to wonder if the Producers really "thought the name through" before they made the series!o_O
