I've got a Maxview 66E dish here, which is approx 80x60cm, I've always been fond of these as they have a folding arm and an unusual shape.
AFAIK these used to be sold with a Sky type LNB that clipped in to the feed arm, but later models came with a standard 40mm LNB bracket and a "Generic Universal LNB" mine came with a basic Inverto Red Classic.

What got me thinking was the shape of the dish, the Sky Zone1/2 dishes have a scalar ring optimised for the dish shape, however the Sky dishes (most I've seen) are not actually completely an oval shape, i'd say they are more of a stretched 3 lobed epitrochoid/reuleaux triangle

This is perfectly oval and a different shape to the Sky dishes.

I wonder why they used an oval dish for these and I'm trying to work out what LNB would be optimal for its use to take advantage of the unusual shape. I recall Raven made something a few years ago that was a similar shape. I'm also curious to who actually manufactured these.
The Maxview "Round" dishes always used to be Triax TD's with folding arms.

Pictures attached of Dish (LNB on it is one I'm messing around with for Es'Hail) the supplied LNB is in another picture.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

A better picture of the feedarm (and the backplate/clamp) will probably identify it. There are lots of zone 1 / 2 clones out there, I was unfortunate to be asked to install a Fransat system on 5W, which came with a horrible plastic backed Zone 1 thing in white.

I think it was an Italian supply (Metronic ?) truly horrible.

The feedarm looks custom, or they have cut it and added their own folding joint?
Dish feels very well made and is nicely powder coated.

Something I've just spotted but never noticed before, the Zone 2 Sky dish is completely oval, whereas the Zone 1 isn't.
In fact I would say this is a Solid version of a Zone 2 dish.

Well it seems the LNB holder Maxview have put in this is a SKY MK3 to MK4 LNB adapter, which does not really hold a 40mm LNB correctly as the MK4 LNB is around 37mm.

I'm looking for a MK3 LNB holder that takes 40mm LNBs, I'm thinking that the MK3 quads were 40mm, at least some of them came with the thinner collar. Earlier ones had fixed LNBs or really long collars. I'd like to use a MK3 LNB for optimum illumination and be able to swap to other 40mm LNBs for tinkering.

I thought the Mk4 clamp was slightly smaller (and not quite circular in shape when closed). It also has grooves top and bottom for the skew flange on the later LNB

From memory the older Quad LNB had a 38mm diameter neck but it will not fit into the Mk 4, at least not without a couple of straps to hold it in place. It is also double the weight of the later LNBs and so needs fettling once in place to prevent post-install droop.

The MK3 is 40mm as they sell an adapter to use a MK3 LNB on a MK4 dish for some unknown reason.

However the only adaptor you can buy for the MK3 is to allow it to take the MK4 LNB

I think I need to find an old quad like this...125210

Testing this dish on QO-100/Es'Hail2, with Inverto Black Premium Single LNB, might take the #Minitiouner with me on holiday
