Meteor M2 ??

reduced image.webp As metioned already ..
poxslag crashed the direct UK pass ...so tried for a later pass ...centered sadly over the Atlantic ..
You can see the UK to the right ...covered in cloud ..
No surprise there then..
..and more pager tearing of the image..
cest la vie

Todays peek at the UK from above about 11:00 AM
Sadly not the best image thanks to those Poxy Slags ..

VS what do you process the baseband signal with? Theres an interesting way using audacity here

Audacity no longer needed ...as this process involved capturing a chunk of baseband ...then using audacity to remove the wanted signal then processing it ..
The M2 Demodulator plugin makes this method redundant ..tho you still have to manually decode ..then process the image.

Another pass ...Northbound this time due in 15 minutes ...but sadly very dark here ...so ...If the UK is covered in thick cloud this late in the day ...
I expect a very poor image.

Its still light this far north so you might get summat

Was still light here buddy ...t'other side of the clouds..
lol

This took a while cos I had a vistor .....but as you can see the earth was entering night shadow..Small image.webp

One thing you can't deny ...meteor M2 produces some stunning earth images ...
Such a pity about the RF pager overspill.
Perhaps someone else fancies a pop at this ...who lives out in the sticks somewhere..
??
Images that can be produced include..
False colour
Infra red
Thermal
& Vegetation

also
something called emapped ?
GB 122
and
GB 124

..and no I dont know what these are ...
?

...another image that might be interesting ..if I ever get chance ...would be 'illuminated by moonlight ...on a clear cloudless night' ..
Yeah Right ...!!!

I certainly fancy having a go at this one, but I'll have to get a decent antenna sorted first

Many plans on t'interweb for QFH antennas ..
Just make sure you spiral in the right direction for the circular polarity..
Same polarity as used for NOAAs

From Earlier ...
Scotland had a nice day it would seem..

Sorry about the missing slice ..
Beyond my control ..
..but probably the best UK image I've managed yet ...
grabbed about 11.30 AM2016_08_06_LRPT_11-12-48.s_125.false-colour resize.webp

..Aye ..tis a beaut ...
I just wish those pagers would feck off somewhere else..
Even with Hi Q resonator filters the size of dustbins ..they are too close to filter out.

A rare-ish occasion ...so had to grab an image ..
More or less the entire UK in sunshine ...

...Take a good look at the one over France ...
Was that once a vapour trail ...
Awfully straight for a natural phenomena...
??

Todays look at the UK ..
Almost direct overhead pass ...
Gonna be a warm one ..

Gorgeous clear skies up here, 21C says "Real feel" 23C, does feel warmer than 21C to be fair to AccuWeather.
