Mexican satellite MexSat-1 is likely lost.

Αll launches "Proton-M" will be suspended

ria.ru

Assuming we get the usual ~3 months stand down (whilst the engineers find out which component has been built out of recycled 1980's Ladas instead of industrial grade steel) the following launches are now not going anywhere any time soon:

June - Turksat 4B (50E)
July Express AM8 (14W)
July/August Eut 9B (9E)

helicopter flew to the site (Trans-Baikal) of the alleged falling debris of "Proton" launch vehicle.

Oh, FFS.... I was looking forward to 14W :( I was and am not, however, looking forward to 9E...

It's a wonder satellite operators still use the Russians, considering their track record. And I am the one who should be biased towards them!

What's more surprising is the fact that insurance companies are willing to insure against Baikonur launches. Perhaps we should have a "Yet another Russian launch failure..." thread?
