Mini City Chat thread.

We've been sabotaged, looks like someone has worked out that overbuilding of factories wipes out population.

Not sure that it's worth bothering rebuilding, if it is that easy for someone to sabotage it.
 
I'm pretty sure that it is the city which we had just overtaken, but can't prove that, have tried googleing for clues, but to no avail.
 
I think it is too, their population has only really just started increasing again,
they've been too busy ruining ours!

please stop this city nonsense it's very annoying- or at least make it uncompulsory. This spam-like measure will make me go to another forum.
 
I visited the city above us ,to find out whats going on,and clicked on industry to be safe.It seems they are losing population "because of pollution".So it must be someone else,maybe lower than us trying to overtake.

Eh???? What do you mean by compulsory??? Did anyone make you do anything?? That would be news to me.

It is not compulsory, there was a bug in the software an hour or so ago, which is now fixed. All we wanted to do was make members aware of the project, but of course, if you are not interested in helping the community in a small fun project, then let us know and we'll exclude you from the list.

Back up to a population of 991, and position 121.:)

Which is not too bad going, since we had a population of 774 just 12 hours ago. So 225 population clawed back in 12 hours.

1089 now and rank 105,now that I visited.
 
Bloody hell, I missed all this with the population. It's a disaster, can't we contact NATO?
 
We need to keep a watchful eye as factories are still regularly being opened needlessly.
 
Probably from the other site, looking at ways to counter this. :)
 
I had a bit of a search on the internet, what people do is some sort of script that they run on their computers/routers that fools the site into thinking that they get hits. Unfortunately they don't want to tell how to do it, but all the big cities IMO have found out how to do it.
 
Most of the scripts I've seen have been for busy blog pages, where they open a small popup window of the minicity site. Not sure we can do that here.

Looks like all of the sites on big numbers are running automatic scripts, so not really sure if we can compete, or whether we really want to if it simply a numbers game, driven by scripts.

How about a pop-under window that loads the page then after a set amount of time closes? There must definitely be a way to do that as all kinds of adverts do that to load their evil cookies and other guff to our computers... :confused:
 
Not so easy with vbulletin forum software, Chris has tried several scripts and none have worked so far.
