Missing Channels

Thought I had a problem with my Sky+HD box, but now not so sure. Symptoms are loss of some channels including BBC1, BBCHD, CH4, ITV1HD and many others. On channels where signal is obtained both inputs shown good strength, quality and lock. If channel is missing Input 1 shows nothing Input 2 is OK. Swapping feeds to box makes no difference, still Input 1 missing on chanels where no signal is picked up. Originally thought tuner problem with box, however.... TV is Panasonic Freesat - haven't used Freesat for a while (over 6 months and have moved house since last use) so thought I'd try that. Now when I plug either feed into the TV some of the channels reappear but not all. E.g. can now pickup ITV1HD, but not BBC1 or BBCHD - strange. If signal is picked up then strength etc is great, if not, nothing. Does this look like an LNB problem - if so how come some channels picked up with Freesat receiver, but not Sky box?
Reluctant to call out Sky engineer for £65 to replace box until I'm more certain about what the problem might be.

Until Sunday morning everything was working fine with Sky box, although have no idea what the Freesat situation was and no reason to think dish has been moved.

then go through the list from 101 and cross out any channels that are missing. You might find a pattern (eg the horizontals are missing)

Chances are the lnb is faulty - very cheap to replace these days
 
First, try a re-scan on the Pana TV. Establish if the Freesat is working and then move back to the SkyHD box issue; possible PSU problems.
 
I have exactly the same problem this morning as does my neighbour,
I suspect it's not an LNB fault but that someting has changed up there.
 
There's been a lot of movement at late; worth trying a re-scan of channels.

"In the early hours of Tuesday 14th February some technical work is taking place on the full suite of ITV, STV, UTV and Channel 4 channels. There may be a short interruption to these services during this time."

I'll do a full rescan when I'm back home again tomorrow as I'm away 'til then. Interesting about changes to Freesat ITV, CH4 etc but I can actually get ITV1 and ITV1HD no problem on Freesat although BBC and BBCHD are missing. Puzzled that I can get ITV1HD on Freesat, but not on the Skybox but can't get e.g. BBCHD on either. Would the Freesat signal for ITV1HD be different to that for Sky?

There are a few cases where the Sky and Freesat ITV1 regions might be slightly different. I think one of the ITV 1 HD regions is still encrypt.
 
Replaced the LNB - 5 minute job at a fraction of the price of the Sky callout. Exactly the same model as was already up there. Everything working fine now.
