Monoblock plus 5W on old "Analogue" Dish

Loving the setup mate, did you ever touch up your old Analogue dish mate? Still looks very black in colour? These old dishes up here that are still up appear light Gray in colour, just washed out looking thats why I was asking.

I haven't touched the dish at all - acquired it a few years ago from a neighbours garage where it had been stashed after he went Digital.

Generally in good nick, but had to lubricate fasteners to release them prior to refitting and Kurusting.

The best dish is a free dish!

Ive got one of those dayglo orange & green lnb's - not bad at all - and I think it was freebie from somewhere. :D

I have a feeling mine came from the place we do not name. Summat to do with raptors ......................

I just did a lucky dip in my spares drawer today and that's what came to hand!

LNBs, Bracket, Arm etc. all encrusted with fresh snow this morning and 5W continues to boom through.

I had the prescience to refit the rubber boot to the Dayglo LNB after removing the Meter from the lash-up, even though the cabling is still a mess awaiting further attention!

Suprised the bracket hasn't slipped on it'self with the extra weight [snow]. You need to tighten them up a far bit anyway.

Yes, but don't forget that led to me breaking one of the clamps yesterday!

It seems absolutely fine now, so best left alone.

Wedge a boom underneath it, stop it flopping about :-rofl2

On a serious note, is this a temp fix G?

Who knows!

Just like fiddling about.

But I am trying to rid myself of parts of the dish farm while the house is up for sale.

If you took the LSD LNB and placed it cap up in the snow in the middle of the garden it would look like a magic mushroom.

:-rofl2 :-rofl2 :-rofl2

Well the jury rig has survived all the snow and ice with no detriment, so I have finally removed the dedicated 5W minidish.

Now down to three dishes: 28E, 80cm Motorised, this hybrid jobbie.

Trying to make the place Saleable!

Going to remove some cabling, shift DiSEqC switches etc. while the sun is out.

Hope you are packing your dishes, brackets etc away with care & keeping them together! If you put bracket captive nuts, bolts & pipe clamps in sandwich bags then tape them to the back of the dish face you wont lose them. Theres nothing worse than putting small stuff like that into bags & then putting them into drawers, they will end up misplaced/binned for sure!:-thumb1

Don't worry .............. I'm impeccably organised :-smile3

"What's that, SWMBO? Insufferably organised? As you wish, dear"
