What a shame, took mine down the tip a month or so ago, had been trying to give it away for ages. You may have more luck getting a cheap V-Box.

Bugger ... been meaning to post this for ages

With the coming of the digital age I virtually gave away my Monterey Classic , with hindsight I should have kept it and used that as a positioner.. Oh well what I'd give for a cystal ball :)

I do wish they'd get a website designer in, continuing the theme from their main site, which in my opinion is probably the worst retail satellite site on the net, is not a good idea.

Ah yes, I notice an Echostar SR50 there :)

My first entry into multi-satellite scanning. That and a Pace MSP990 positioner to drive my SMW dish, and a homebrew V/H/skew circuit. Roger Bunney (he of Wotsat) added a threshold extender to sharpen the bandwidth for DX work.

A knob-twiddler's receiver par excellence. Also had a blue backlit signal meter on the front, perfect for peaking up the TP.

Still got it BTW, will have to disinter it to check the last remainng analogue stuff :-rofl2

look in the german section, around one month ago,one member post that he has one for sale ,icluding programms, for settings edit etc!
maybe he is still here !

montery 140,was not the only dual axis receiver in the world, there was also the drake esr 2000,that i also sold now, with the extention iot 608

and the 3. one in the receiver famely, was made by usa, company uniden!

is also very heavey, but real good quality, the dream receivers, for all analouge fans outthere .9

I wrote the manual for the Uniden (UST 590 ?) model. It was horrible, a last ditch attempt to compete but the company had lost all faith in the industry at that time , 1994/5, and they lost their best software developers to the competition

i have 2 of them but currencly find only one remote!
real heavy!
i dont know anything, about the history of uniden, does they also produces any other products then receiver?
drake and the very heavy and massive earthstations models, was also one of my favrites, and was real expensice, during his time, often iam in the past with my minds, thinking how good the qualty was,in the good old days!
i have also uniden manuals but,i must search them
i could imagine, that this would take a lot of time,to wrote manual for complex to handle receivers:)
dont find much information on google about the dual axis uniden modell!

In the satellite industry they were best known for easy to use individual receivers and positioners, but they also made a D2Mac decoder, the UST92.

Uniden also (and probably more famously) manufactured AM 27MHz CB radios for US and European supply, and did well in the cordless phone market.
