i nearly bought the Sigma 170-500mm but 2 things made me change my mind, the first being the gap i would have from my 70mm to the beggining of the new lens 170mm. i also had to consider that my filters all fit nikon lenses @ 67mm.
so i went for the nikon so i have 18-300mm range and filters for both.
will probably by a bigger one sometime in the future.... although since that picture of the moon.... connecting my DSLR to a telescope would be nice
i need a telescope first though hehehe
but using 2 t-mount connecters fits the 2 together great, depending on the scope you can take pictures of all 9 planets and the moons
maybe even take shots of all the Satellites for us lot
Thats the thing with photography... the kits and gadgets are endless... unlike my pocket
I bought one of these cheapo scopes from Ebay, 75x magnification, but it is not very good and although i had a quick try with the E500 using the adaptor, it didn't produce any decent results.
Sigma now make a 135-400, which is a little brighter and not quite as heavy as the 50-500, I guess my next progression would be something like an 800mm single focus, but that is a lot of pounds later.
