Which lens did you buy Red?

i Bought a Nikon AF-S 70-300mm VR
£399 from Jessops

its great, has a built in Vibration Reduction system for people who cant help waving the camera around when zooming right in LOL

when you half press the shutter button, it does a matrix style slo-mo of whatever your shooting... so you get a sharp image.

i apologize if you already knew that :D

Looks like a nice lens, certainly very compact.

well erm... not exacly no :D

now ive bought this, i need a new camera bag.... it doesnt fit in LOL

i will post a pic with the lens attached... 1 min

normal lens 18-70mm

What a beast...... You obviously have more than one camera as I can see no mirrors :)

LOL, i have a Olympus too.

i also have a Sony Ericcson k800i phone... have you seen the little zoom lenses you can buy now :)

here

goto ebay and type "phone telescope" they have them for all phones

But you would have to have a very steady hand for that would you not?

Or do they do miniature tripods as well?

Believe me, that is compact, this is my 50 - 500mm, the second picture is my 40 - 150mm on 40mm, it's about the same as your 300 when extended :)

Nice setup Rolf ;) good sturdy looking tripod.

i nearly bought the Sigma 170-500mm but 2 things made me change my mind, the first being the gap i would have from my 70mm to the beggining of the new lens 170mm. i also had to consider that my filters all fit nikon lenses @ 67mm.

so i went for the nikon so i have 18-300mm range and filters for both.

will probably by a bigger one sometime in the future.... although since that picture of the moon.... connecting my DSLR to a telescope would be nice
i need a telescope first though hehehe

but using 2 t-mount connecters fits the 2 together great, depending on the scope you can take pictures of all 9 planets and the moons

maybe even take shots of all the Satellites for us lot :)

Thats the thing with photography... the kits and gadgets are endless... unlike my pocket :(

I bought one of these cheapo scopes from Ebay, 75x magnification, but it is not very good and although i had a quick try with the E500 using the adaptor, it didn't produce any decent results.

Sigma now make a 135-400, which is a little brighter and not quite as heavy as the 50-500, I guess my next progression would be something like an 800mm single focus, but that is a lot of pounds later. :-lmao

dunno about the 800mm but i thought about the 600mm one.... i say thought, i stopped thinking when i saw the price :D

what do you shoot most rolf? wildlife?
with a lens like that you must do really.

Yes, mostly birds (the feathered type). :)
