It looks like AM22 has had the wick turned up in the past few days

Signal coming in loud and clear on a 90cm in SE England

http://www.lyngsat.com/eam22.html

Lots of capacity left over as well

Well done CH that's certainly the best news I've had this weekend.
Just wonder if I can get it with my 70cm. :)

I doubt it can ge received on a standard 70cm, the 90 I have on the roof is something special.....

and they have turned down the power already on the horizontal channels

Hi CH

I do not know about turning the wick up on this satellite but am still getting good signal levels since changing from 1.25m down to 85cm. The number of channels/transponders has increased over the last 3 months or so on this bird.

Then its down to Rob to try the satellite with his oudoor kit, I dont think he will get the horizontal channels, from my calculations he may even struggle to get the music ones.

Back down to 9 fta channels from 15, last year it was only 2.

Strongest here is 11044V, 29800, 3/4, then, 11097V, 10500, 3/4, then 11083V, 3750, 3/4.

11090H, 15000, 3/4, very blocky/pixilated, weather very misty, condensation running off of dish. Those H channels not included in the 9 V channels that are crystal clear.
AF

PS. Ah Ha, I've just found why I lost SGUTV 1 & 2, now on a different transponder, so back up to 11 V fta channels received here.

As you said CH could not get the horizontal channels (typical, they are the ones I really wanted) but I got all of them on 11044V, and 11096V which as AF stated are the strongest ones. Will try the two SGU TV channels tomorrow. And that is with a 70cm dish, so should be within everyones reach.

Am having trouble getting SGU 1&2, AF can you please tell me what freq etc you used.
Nearly got "Style Russia" but the picture was rubbish does anyone have any idea's on getting the three channels on 11090H, 15000,3/4 ?
AF what's this about 11083V, 3750, 3/4, I'm I missing something here ?
Thanks Rob

Hi Rob

SGU 1&2 on 11184V, 11111, 3/4, only 24% quality.
11183V, 3750, 3/4 colour bars feed.
11090H, 15000, 3/4, as stated very blocky last night, had clear picture earlier when the sun came out, not a glimmer now.
Style is on that transponder.

85cm Gibertini Dish, 0.3dB Golden interstar LNB, 30m cable with 2 co-ax switches and 2 back to back "f" joiners, Technomate TM5000DA receiver. Might take a look tomorrow with the Technomate TM1000D to see if it is any better.

Past experience in getting signals from these weaker birds/weaker footprints ie 53east and 7 west is that the signals get better towards summer and clear nights.
Might even put up the Funke 98cm and see how that hackles.
Cannot use the 1.25m as it was used as a target by the local "golfers" and has now gone to a better home.

AS CH mentioned, you might be pushing it with your 70cm to get anything from this bird.
Regards AF

* Rob

I carried out a scan of 53east over the lunch break.
85cm dish, 0.3dB lnb, 10m cable direct from lnb to receiver, receiver Technomate TM1000D.
Weather, light rain/heavy drizzle.
11044V, 29800, 57% strength, 67% quality.
channels received, 1-Muz BY, NEO TV, CTC+2, CTC+0, Muz TV-LoveRV, MNS.
11097V, 10500, 55% strength, 62% quality.
Channels received, UTR, HTH, KTM.
11083V, 3750, 48% strength, 52% quality. FEED.
11184V, 11111, 35% strength, 36% quality.
Very broken up reception of SGUTV 1 & 2.
11098H, 15000, no signal.
Strength/Quality readins from the Technomate TM5000DA taken at the same time were
11044V, S83%, Q40%
11097V, S80%, Q36%
11083V, S73%, Q21%
11184V, no signal received
11090H (not 11098H as I previously posted) the package has left the satellite (according to Flysat)

Thanks for the info AF, as you say 11090H package has flown away and SGU TV 1&2 both with very weak signals not much else to do.
* Channel Hopper- is there anything that you can add, especially about SGU TV 1&2.

Hi Rob

Some cloud cover, some stars visible, very fine drizzle.
SGUTV 1&2 some loss of signal but clear when locked.
Looks like you might have to get a bigger dish m8

Don't think bigger dish will be needed now as I have just seen that the two SGU TV channels are educational channels, is this correct ?

* Channel Hopper Can you get a clear picture of SGU 1&2 with your 90cm dish ?

Mind you have another problem now as the receiver will not go to 53 east when I use the remote control. The sat and channels all tuned in and then it stops at about 20 east. Russians nothing but trouble. :)

A Russian music channel has come to my attention, Music Box Russia on Hotbird at 13E (11179 H 27500 3/4). Sorry if people knew about this before but I've only just been told by some Russian mates in Germany. Seems to be playing upto date Russian pop. (Not my cup of tea but the wife seems to like it ;-) )

Two new Russian channels on Express AM22 (53 east), they are both on 11044V, 29800.
Think they might be the same channel broadcast two hours later (we will see).

They are both called Domashniy one with a SID of 6, the other 8.
On my satellite listing they come up as Z+0, and Z+2.

Is anyone else picking up a weaker signal for the 3 channels on 11096V ?

I only noticed it at a customers house today, and from what I saw, its the usual hairdresser bunch, and some with plastic surgery that voted to reject the patient.
Dont tell the wife its on Hotbird, otherwise she will be hogging the TV daytime as well.

I notice on lygsat the NTV is in the clear on Intelsat 904 60E (Moscow beam). Has anybody had any luck getting a singnal from that transponder in the UK. Looking at the coverage graphs on the Intelsat website I realise it might be cheaper to pay for the NTV sub off Sirus than invest in the kit needed to get this.

Is anyone else having problems getting RTVi (Russian) from Hotbird.
It is at 11938H, 27500, 3/4, PID 7101, and should be FTA.
At the momemt I'm picking up a bad version of Nashe Kino.
