Hi Guys

I'm new to this wonderful forum, so please go easy on me ! :)

I am planning on setting up a Satellite System. I want to have HotBird (13E) and I think it is Astra where most english channels are located.

I want as many HD channles as I can get. My TV support HD, the receiver I am planning on getting also supports HD (Technomate TM-6900 HD COMBO Super Black Edition).

What I am not sure about is .. what Dish (also wall mount) should I get, and What LNB should I get ?

I would greatly appreciate any help given.

Thank You.

The UK channels are on the Astra 2 cluster

If you want the MOST HD channels in English you need a subscription to Sky UK & a HD digibox.!

If you go down the free only route theres about 3 or 4 available in English and at least one of them isnt very interesting.

Thank You AnalogueSat

I hate monthly payments :(

Is there no way to get National Geographic HD without going through Sky ?

Thanks

Doesnt look like it:

Remember HD is a premium product and you can expect to pay extra for it - you certainly do with Sky UK :D

In that link you just sent me, it says you can get Nat Geo HD on EuroBird 9A .. or at least that is how I understand the info presented !

Is this true ?

Thanks

You can its part of helloHD package. As far as I know that ones not open.

You won't get it for free.
The Polish package Cyfra+ has NG in HD, but in Polish.
Also NG in SD in Polish and English.

There you go TF - confirmation you cant get it for free.

I think the minimum subscription for Nat Geo HD on Sky will be 26 quid a month

And lets hope you love watching the same programs over and over again.

I'm already getting all the channels that I want to watch through VirginMedia. But they are not HD.

They only have BBC HD :(

And you are right, the Discovery Network channels keep repeating programs :)
