I'm starting this new thread because of manufacturer built in redundancy..
I'm working my way through the various motherboards I've either bought or aquired over the years ..
many of which are simply not that old but manufacturers ..specifically my latest encounter ECS have chosen to remove any and all support for anything they dont consider viable any longer ..
I spent many hours this morning going round their site in circles finding nothing.
other than descriptions of their products ..
No drivers ..
no bios updates ..
no manuals
So I've come to the conclusion ...I would like to aquire as many of these 'resources' as possible for posterity.
What I'm asking for is the driver disks ..
either contents ...or iso copies ..
I'm sure you guys have a good few between you..
..and I'd like to archive them
This one is really infuriating me ..on account I want to re-use it ..
An ECS 648FX-A rev 1.00 (image above)
The board is fine ...is P4 compatible ...but I have no way to use it it on older OS without the drivers..
Can anyone help here ?
If anyone has the disc please let me know ..
I have other mobos ..and I'm sure I'll be asking again..
Any driver CDs you have please iso image them and maybe I can get an archive going..

I have quite a few mobo install discs (mostly 10 to 15 years old P4 and similar - copied from upgrading PCs in those days for friends etc) - will try and dig them out and list them later

Thanks Dave ..
The Link is good ..
But for some reason unlnown to me ..
only when I opened it with IE rather than Firefox was I able to download anything ???
I'd still like to continue with this project ragrdless ..
Always better to have the supplied CD that came with the motherboard..when possible..
so yep ..
go for it Dave ..dig out your list ..
:D

Not making any progress as the integrated SiS chips North and South Bridges cannot be initialised ..
From what bit of info I have Northbridge is a SiS 648FX
and South Bridge which contains the onboard USB, AC97 SOUND & NETWORK cards ...is a SiS 963L
I guess without the supplied CD if fooked..

So ..this is not a very scientific approach ..but I am desperate and will probably mess up the OS several times during the process ..
but am digging through my various driver CDs for totally different motherboards ..and anything with SiS related is being investigated ..by trial and error ..
Got the on board network card working using a driver I found on an MSI CD ..
There has to be an easier way than this ..
..and YES I am mental..

What would help is a util that I can run to investigate the motherboard ..and report back on all peripheral chipset details by probing them ..
does such a util exist ?

Before you confirm - again - you are certifiable (we know) , which operating system do you want the board to run on ?

Yes Please Dave..

I'll correct the title then,

Typo's....Just quit falling asleep on the key board, that helped with my typing problems....Hey did that package arrive??

Have you seen this site??

I'll have a look at work next week & see if Ive got any discs. I might do - I normally keep things like that for years - then have a massive clear out every so often! If so you can have them VS

Thanks again..

Did you try looking for the drivers on Driver Guide as I think they would have quite a lot of the ones you are seeking?

yep ..got some of the SiS chipset drivers ..
missing such things as Audio ...LAN ...and the like..
which would be difficult ..maybe impossible to install for Win98SE without the original patched installation usually on the CD
Driver Guide is good ..but I'd like to create something similar archive wise that makes available the original supplied CDs in ISO

Check out the public bit, by your back door. ;-)

I've found 15 motherboard discs so far along with numerous install discs (over 30 so far) for various cards together with a collection of 5 discs from 2003 with drivers of all sorts. Ir will take me a while to convert them all to ISOs. I have also found a few of my own "install essenrials" discs with old versions (2003+) of many free programs including browsers, Winamp, winzip, media players etc. I will try and provide a list soon - meanwhile if anyone is urgently seeking anything from that era please post and I will have a quick look.

Excellent Dave ..
Hopefully I'll be able to get copies of everything ..for my archive ..
suitably labelled of course ..
;)
When you're ready ..
I'll either provide an upload link to my dropbox ..
or the other way around if you too have dropbox ..?
I can only take 2gb at a time with the freebie..but it will suffice..
