Motor + Diseqc Question

My Satellite Setup
1.1m Triax dish, TM2300 motor. 2 x DM800HD, 1 DM500, 2 x Sly HD. 1 60cm fixed (Astra 2D).
My Location

I have a 1.2M dish connected to a motor which is in turn connected to my DM800 box. This isn't setup perfectly and most of the satellites are ropey at best especially in the wind. The wife is doing her nut as the Sly channels are breaking up all over the place with any bit of wind. I also have the original Sly dish on the house running into the room not connected to anything. Does anyone know if it's possible to connect a Diseqc switch to these two dishes and then assign the Sly satellite to go to the Sky dish but the rest to run to the motorised dish. How would this be configured in my DM800?

I did have a similar setup using my TM600 Linux. I wired the ouput of the switch to the receiver, one of the inputs to the 28E dish, and the other input to my Disecq 1.2 motor ( in your case it would be to the V-box).

The settings in the various Linux machines can be image dependent and thus possibly be different, and I can't remember exactly how I had it setup. But basically, the 28E satellite was set so that it used 1 of the diseqc switch inputs, the rest of the sats were configured to use the other, and the motor as well. It worked OK.

DM800 with 2 LNBs? I did it here:- http://www.satellites.co.uk/forums/...torised-systems/169387-2-x-lnbs-dreambox.html

If the switch is a 2 way, the setting are A / B rather than AA/AB/BA/BB. I only got a four way because it was cheaper than a 2-way! Mine is a Technomate switch, don't muck about with a cheap switch, its not worth it, the DM800 can be fussy about that and make sure you re-boot after the installing.

I've just actually order a motor for the second dish, as it looks do-able in the DM800 menu and might help me with weaker 5E signals.
