hi guys will a disqet motor be ok for a 1.2 mtr dish satellite dish 1.2m gibertini

You might get some useful life out of one if the dish/mount is very sheltered.

I'm running a Laminas 1.2M dish on a Clarke-Tech diseq motor, albeit in quite a sheltered spot. It is a very lightweight dish though. There isn't any apparent backlash thus far though the larger dish made the existing backlash on my old Technomate motor very obvious, hence the need to replace it. It may be worth a go, but if your mount is in an exposed place I'd consider a polar mount and actuator.

you can fit a diseqc motor to that dish but you need to modify the backing plate if you use a diseqc motor with downward facing mounting unlike the stab motor which will work better
