Hi....about to upgrade my box but want my motor issue sorted 1st.
My motors lit up and turns with the button but wont turn using
my TM, all my connetions are good and been checked and i cant
figure out what the problem is .
Have the motor down and all inside it seems fine and it turns for
me again with the button while i have it down.
all ideas welcome.

Thanks

You need to configure the receiver for DiSEqC 1.2 positioning which will drive the motor. The 5400 will drive either with 1.2 or USALs.

Right gonna put it back up and try that :) so you think the motors
working ok just some menu tweaking req.

thanks

The motor will turn by the E & W buttons on the motor body as long as there's a DC supply. You have to access > installation > motorised setting > DiSEqC motor > either 1.2 or USALs to drive via the receiver.

No its not moving in usuals or 1.2, when i'm on 5w which is my due
south sat and the 1 i set my dish to and try and move the diseqc motor
view control it doe not move thats the fine tune on the blue button.

In the menu motorized settings its on 5w, when i pick another sat say
19e and hit go to it makes like its moving on usuals but when the bar
moving to 19e closes its not moved.....but it move on the button on
the motor...strange

How long is the cable run ?

What type of cable is betwen motor and receiver ?

Is there a reset button on the motor ?

Try the motor reset in the Technomate menus, that sometimes sorts the motor out, when it misbehaves.

Also, if pressing a reset switch on the motor itself, Read the manual. On some motors, the reset must be pressed when at 0, otherwise zero will be set in the wrong place.

Tried that but both never helped....it was working ok for 2 years this is just right
out the blue, going to take the dish down again and try a new cable between the
motor and the box in my house, send it to a few sats while i have it in my hand.

Anymore suggestions apart from the motor must have a fault, well its had over 2
years of scottish weather.

Why not run a temporary cable first to see.

Tried that there and that involved moving the lot upstairs to a window
near the dish/motor.....It still wont moved...1 thing i did notice in the
technomate settings was the Motor Control the part -enable-set E-set W
was not highlighted in usuals or 1.2...could this have anything to do with
it.....pressed the reset on the motor when i was finished still nothing.

Just wanna eliminate everything before deciding if the motors finished, it
still moved left and right on the button and i have a great signal on my
due est sat.

Thanks for being patient.

If you've eliminated the cable/connectors and are sure the receiver is correctly configured then maybe the motor is faulty.

The motor should move in DiSEqC 1.2 via 'move East and West' commands.

What are the readings of the East/West limits, in the receivers menu? If they are set the same then the motor wont move. I use a 1224 Jeager motor and occasionally have one of the limits reset, usually when I'm flicking through the menu options too quickly and select the wrong option:-DOH2

I cant get setting any limits the part in the setting are not highlighted....looks
like its a goner....anyways i was going to upgrade from technomate to dreambox
looks like a motor to...

Try replacing the reed switch, I had the same problem last year with my DiSEqC motor and it cured the fault

Got my new motor today had it up in no time and everythings
back to working ok...had to be the motor as we eliminated
everything else.....

thanks all for the tips and suggestions
appreciated

Ah, well.

At least you've got a result - and not too hard on the pocket, I guess.

Aye its a great feeling when you see that signal go to 90 then
see and hear that motor turning:) just waiting on my 800HD arriving
now....then upgrade from an 80cm to a 1m dish.

AND .....none of it would be possible without this site...i thank
you all for your help and patience frm the day i joined till today.

appreciated
