I thought it was time to upgrade my old TM1000 to a new TM NANO 0E.
I have an existing Technomate motor and after connecting the new receiver I was not able to search for satellites. Dish simply wouldn't move left or right.

Having looked at the motor itself, I have noticed there was no light and I could not move the dish using the buttons on the motor itself. Obviously not getting the power it requires from the receiver.
As soon as I plugged in my old receiver it was working again.

I am not sure if I am doing something wrong here but any tips as to what I need to do to get this going?

Have you configured the receiver to work with your motor?

You need to copy over the USALS co ordiates over to the new receiver so the satellite knows where to move the motor to.

You should find the motor configs in menu -> service searching -> satellite configuration

Set to simple setup -> positioner

Copy your USALS co-ordinates over to the new receiver and it should work.

Its a bit of a steep learning curve going from a TM1000 to a Linux Enigma box.

Thanks for the reply. Setting on this new receiver are completely different compared to TM9100.
Even on the 9100, I cannot get a fixed position now. Dish is still moving when I select a satellite, but not able to get a fixed channel position.

Do you happen to know what the should be set to? Somehow I think that if I can get the new receiver to control the satellite, I should be able to configure the rest.
 
I thought you had a TM1000 not a TM9100. If you have a TM9100 things won't be that bad going from the TM9100 as you will have a good idea what to do with the TM Nano.

I'm guessing your satellite dish was setup using DISEqC meaning that even if you put your coordinates in it may still be out. If you have a Sat Nav use that to find your co-ordinates. Stand near the dish and then write down what co-ordinates the sat nav reports.

Does the motor move at all and is just not catching a satellite or does it just not work? If its moving tell the TM9100 to send the dish to zero degrees and then select a channel. If the positions are stored it should go back to the postion in memory. If you move the dish with another receiver it can sometimes confuse the other receiver when its connected back up. which is probably what is causing the issue with the TM9100.

It is TM9100, sorry about that must have been a typo.
Coordinates are configured. Motor moves with the old receiver but not the new one. I have also noticed that there is no power when I connect the new receiver. The light on the motor is off and I cannot manually move the motor when I press the button on the motor itself.
This is not the case with the old receiver. I get light when connected and able to move the motor.
So for some reason it is not drawing enough power from the new receiver to power the motor. If I can get it to draw power, I should be able to configure it correctly.
 
If its correctly configured and there is no power going to it then it sounds like a receiver fault to me. May be worth contacting the place you had it from.
