Motor won't go past certain point?

My Satellite Setup
1.1m Triax dish, TM2300 motor. 2 x DM800HD, 1 DM500, 2 x Sly HD. 1 60cm fixed (Astra 2D).

I have been having trouble with my setup and have been tweaking it as best as I can. At the moment I have most of the satellites I would like, although some aren't the best signal quality. I notice though that the motor seems to stop at, or around, Astra 2D. That is, if I try and move to anything further east, such as Hellasat, the motor just won't. There is pleny of "swing" left on both the dish and the motor settings (If I look at the motor arc guide there is still lots left to turn)

Does anyone know why this might be? Restarting the STB didn't make any difference - its a DM800 BTW.
 
If you've inspected the mechanical limits then check software limits.
 
Delete all software limits first, as changing the hardware limits unfortunately involves taking the shaft off the motor.
 
Some modern motors have hidden mechanical limit switches that are not explained in the manual.

The dish needs to be taken off, and the switch limits checked for their lock settings (some of them are limited at the factory to 30E and 30W for safety reasons in Europe).

Don't try doing it yourself unless you are experienced with mechanical limits as you could damage the dish, motor and possibly the receiver if the limits are incorrectly set.
 
Well assuming TM2300 motor, do they not allow 120 degs of travel?
 
Yes, but the maximum travel is not always that set at the factory.

Forgot to add, there is also a reset switch on many clone motors. You still need to climb the ladder though with a small nail or cocktail stick.
