Motorised Dish Issue

Hi, I am having the following problem: A satellite dish with diameter 2,20m, 24'' SuperPowerJack linear motor, all cable runs (including coaxial and electrical for positioner) are about 35m long. The cross sectional area of the cable supplying electricity to the motor from the positioner is 0,75cm2, the one for the reed sensor is 0,50cm2 both copper multi wired. The issue is that when temperature drops below 0 degrees Celcius the positioner keeps on displaying "Err" when trying to move the dish. The older positioners which had a much better transformer than the new ones are much better, after a few tries the "Err" message goes away and the dish is moved just fine. With the new positioners currently on the market it is nearly impossible to rotate the dish when temperature is below 0 degrees Celcius. The dish stand as well as the motor are well greased/lubricated. Any ideas how that can be fixed ?

Seems that I will be facing same issue soon. I think that transformers in new positioners are made in China and not designed to give enough power. I have plan to use 2 different transformers 12V for internal electronics of positioner and another one (exernal) to supply 36VAC.

I do not believe you are using such wires! Maybe 0,75mm2?

Definetely 0.75mm2 sorry :)
 
The only proper way to fix this would be with an additional heating element bolted to the actuator, and insulation throughout.

A partial fix might be stripping the actuator down completely, degreasing the worm drive and gearbox, then repacking with quality grease with a known freezing point.
