Motorised dish possible?

Hi.. I'm Looking for some advice as regards maybe setting up a motorised system. I currently have a broken sly+ system which I used for freesat so rather than get another sly+ box thought I might invest in a new hobby of channel surfing the satellites and hopefully some free football. My problem being though the south facing, where my sly dish is, has lots of trees and they had to move the sly dish up higher so it was near the gutter so I could get a signal. I was also using a 60cm zone 2 dish. Here are some pics I took from my upstairs window which is kinda where the dish is situated... would love a motorised system and hopefully get a better signal with a bigger dish.. maybe 80cm?
Any help appreciated.

Shouldn't be a problem. The dish could go above the gutter line on a pole if neeeded.
 
The trees will affect the signals on the lower satellites, I would go for a 1 meter dish with a good LNB on it, also there are more satellites on that arc further to the west, that is why they call the motors H to H (horizon to horizon) they can pan the entire sky and get what ever satellite that is viewable at your location.

If you own the trees have them trimmed.

I get 30 out here in sunny California, my motorized 1 meter dish can receive the Ku band satellites in an arc from 61W to 129W, there are others but they are C band.

Ok, I was thinking about a penta 85cm dish to go with TM-5402 HD (which I have already ordered) and maybe a TM2600 motor.. does that sound ok?

Oh and someone to fix it all up 'cos I'm scared of heights.:D
 
You won't go too far wrong with the Penta 85, still my favoured dish of that size.
 
Yeah, I'm looking at an 85cm dish fitted above the gutter but not sure what size t&k brackets I should get.. 18inch possibly? Also what size pole to get as I'm gonna stick it between the two windows on the pic.. cant stick it where the sky dish is because of all the ariels.. haven't a clue why there is so many of them.. maybe because of the trees.. anyways u think the 85inch dish would be ok in the middle there?

18 inch most probably, you only need to clear the gutter.An 8ft length of pole would be sufficient. Ive put lots of 1m dishes up there, so the penta should be fine.

8ft pole? Hmmm .. didn't think it would need to be that big.. so how many brackets would I need? Just the two?

Could I not use a 6ft by 2inch pole?
 
You might be able to. Try to keep whats above the top bracket equal to whats below it. 6ft is pushing it for a dish that is 1m (over 3ft) tall. I always use 8ft, then chop some off if I don't need it all. Also the further apart the T+Ks are, the stronger it will be. Depends how windy it is, you might want to stick an extra K on, I often do if its a 110 dish, don't bother for 80.

Scaffold poles easy to come by, cheap and strong. I get mine new from a place in Erith.

Well the dish is an 85cm penta that im looking to get but yeah buying a bigger pole and chopping some off if it's not needed sounds sensible.
It's not that windy where I am so will just get the two t&k's for now.
