Just Sharing This Moved house - Scottish Borders dish farm v2 & v3

I think calling it Internet at his new gaff is a bit of a stretch for your imagination...

Why did you have to move, you just got everything setup the way you wanted it.........Did you have to move because the satellite police found you???

The landlord decided the cottage needed some heavy renovations. Damp courses, walls insulating, ceilings replaced, wet rot in the bathroom floor fixing, all the electrics replaced etc etc...... It just wasnt practical to stay whilst the work was being done

Dreadful atm. 0.4 down 0.2 up

Should be 4-7 meg once they find the fault on the line......
Good luck with that, it took 10 months, 5 open reach engineers, which is a misnomer, and countless complaints, to get my line problem fixed.
Finally a real engineer called round, spotted the problem, in the cabinet, a corroded joint, and fixed it, the rest of them hadn't got a clue.
I also got a lot of threats, from Talk Talk, stating that if the problem was at my end that they would bill me, even though all the engineers stated that the problem wasn't at my house.

Isn't H and H+ (HSPA) one step down from 4G.. so that's not bad going.

Finally got my computer gear set up again - now I can lose myself in my rock music again whilst the missus watches some dreadful old detective series on the Sky box :D

5E added on a 60cm dish. DVB-S signals on the Europe beam only atm.

Ive now slotted a slimline lnb in for 16E. Its a bit rough n ready and the signal strength isnt very good but Ive run out of daylight again..... I need to sort the disecq switching out though as its erratic to say the least

Ive spent a very pleasant hour outside sorting a mount out for what will probably be 52/53E on an 80cm. :)

No time for any testing as the cold wind finally forced me back inside.

i want to see pictures too and also i want you to do a motorised system when the chance comes

Any motorised system isnt going to happen before next summer when Ive got plenty of time, daylight & hopefully warm weather to experiment with.

I can bang a fence post in and get a dish slung up roughly aligned and operational in a winter afternoon. Remember its getting dark up here about half three at the moment - and if the wind is blowing work time is very limited due to the cold.

80cm dish aligned out near 53E has added in

53E - Express AM6
52.5E - Al Yah 1
52E - Turkmensat / MonacoSat

and a weak signal off
50E - Turksat 4B

So by popular request heres a pic of what Ive got so far. Left to right:

80cm - 52/53E (new today)
60cm zone 2 - 5E
1m - 13E/16E/19E

The setup is very likely to change over the next few weeks as I change my mind :D The 1m isnt stable enough on that post so that one will have to have something done about it.

Due south is over to my left
