Its been blowing a full on gale all day here. :(

Just had to dash outside & rescue the wxsat antenna - the digger clipped the mount and pulled the securing screws out of the side of the garage!
 
Dish farm Version 3 from here on :D

Two days where the weather played ball, so the 16 port lnb switch & the first dish has been set up again.

Signals now being received from: 9E / 13E / 16E / 19E / 23.5E & 28E :D The forecast is terrible for the next 2 days here so its unlikely I will get any more dishes up yet.


Due to the exposed location and strong winds we get here Im lowering the big dishes as far as is practical and banging extra arm supports in to try to stop the dishes shifting in the gales.
 
As requested the first set of pics. :D

1 - 1m dish aimed at 13E - the outrigger arm at the bottom is clamped tight round the pole to stop it twisting!!

A nice sunny afternoon here, so the other 1m dish has been installed on the second scaffold pole, aimed at 45/46E again. Offset lnb's for 52/53E and 42E stuck on. The 42E one needs some further adjustment as quite a few tp are missing atm.

The 30W / 22W 60cm dish has been installed above the 13E dish.

Pics tomorrow if the weather is ok

A blind scan of 22W has bought in a surprise. The MTN mux next door on NSS7 at 20W. (12513H 8333)

Only the MTN Info Channel is in the clear, but I will happily take a new satellite slot even if its only got one clear channel on it :D
 
William-1's Channel list for the Technomates threw up quite a few welcome surprises to the west a couple of days ago, but I was really impressed with what was now available on a ten year old machine way out to the east.
 
Last weeks pics - stage 2 Re-erect the 1m aimed at 46E (various offsets for 39Eish to 53E) & erect a new 60cm dish for 30W & 22W (to begin with)

The dish & antenna farm has been further modified this week.

The 1090MHz co-linear was moved to the side of the garage to clear the house northwest. Instead of getting 75 miles NW I am now getting almost 175 :D
A 145MHz dipole has been bolted to the wxsat aerial pole to give me sstv from the ISS.


An 80cm dish has been added to give better signals from 30W / 22W. The inclined NSS7 20W also gives signals on the 22W lnb when its on the arc.
Other lnb's will be added in - Im confident at least 2 more satellites can be logged on this dish. This frees the 60cm dish up which will probably be swung round towards 5E or somewhere round that way.

A zone 1 found at the back of the garage has been added. Not quite sure where this one will be pointed yet but I will find something for it :D

An offset narrow lnb on the 30W dish has bought in 34.5W which is the first time Ive EVER seen this bird! Shame there is feck all of any interest on it really :-rofl2

Ive got the encrypted mux on 11557H 13500 at decent signal level :)

Its so windy here Im thinking of getting some extra bits of scaffold pole & clamping the 2 vertical tubes together with additional outriggers to the garage and the bottom of the fenceline (once its reinstated & I know exactly where its going).
 
This weekends work. The 80cm is on 30W with offsets for 22W & 34.5W. The tiddly zone 1 has been swung round in the hope of getting 12.5W. Rain and failing daylight has stopped play for today though.

And the new arrangement for the radio antennas.

The double cross is wxsat at 137MHz
The dipole is 145Mhz - ISS sstv
the right hand vertical is 1090Mhz for the aircraft tracking

The 1090 is mounted on an old scaffold leg which came out of a skip long ago & some flanged steel poles - which came out of a bin! There are handy holes drilled through each end of the poles so its all bolted together to stop it falling apart in the gales.
 
The beloved old TM5402 died this week so its been replaced with a Mutant HD51. Nice picture on the HD & UHD channels. Shame the Enigma 2 software is still as much of a pile of sh1te as it was a few years ago when I had the much despised Vu+ Duo (which is in the garage awaiting a final trip to the recycling bins at the local municipal tip having suffered terminal electronics failure).

I couldnt figure out the E2 Disecq 1.2 settings for the 16 port switch despite several hours of head scratching (it worked first time on the TM5402!) so Ive changed over to 1.1 and everything is going fairly well despite the hideous E2 interface.
 
Im planning to getv it fixed sometime but what I want is a Technomate receiver multi stream capable - preferably with 2 tuners & 2 cam slots. Im hoping the HD51 will read the Tivusat card once Ive figured out its god awful networking & installed a couple of cams. Coz at the moment its just gives a black screen unless its in its cam & I need the cam slot for the BIS card
 
Technomate missed the boat on Multi-stream despite loads of feed back from myself & others they chose to abandon the project.:(
