Hi Guys
I'm about to move house, relocating from up north to Wiltshire, and I will be taking my motorised kit comprising Penta 85 dish, TM 2600 motor and TM 6902 receiver with me. Before dismantling the kit, I moved the dish to 1W and tuned in Sky News. I then took the motor off the mast with the dish still attached.
For the re-install, I plan to do the following :
- fit new wall bracket below bungalow gutter and ensure plumb.
- with dish still on ground, remove motor from stub mast, adjust limit settings for wider visible arc 30W to 40E, and reassemble.
- adjust elevation setting on motor for new location 2 deg south.
- adjust declination angle of dish according to table in TM user guide.
- Fit dish and motor to wall bracket. Align on 1W using Dishpointer.
So far so good and hopefully I will be able to correctly track the arc, unless my thinking is flawed.
Phase 2 of the process concerns the receiver. Ideally I would like to clear the database of stored channels and reprogramme without having to do a full system reset. Is this possible on the TM6902?
The manual confuses me. Do I carry out an automatic scan or a blind scan of each satellite location? Do I need to move the dish to each Sat position in turn or does this happen automatically?
Please excuse my ignorance. Any guidance would be very welcome.
