multifocus + sky italia?

i just bought a sky italia package and have a problem with it not working with my multifocus dish. it gives the following msg when i turn it on

nessun segnale dalla parabola

which i presume means it can't get the signal.

the problem is probably the fact that my 4 lnb's in the multifocus are connected to one cable thru a 4in1 disecq, and when i connect this cable to the box, it cannot find the hotbird lnb.

is there any way of making this work in my current setup or do i need to somehow connect the 13e hotbird lnb separately to the box?

also, am i right in saying the sky italia card will not work in my dreambox? the company that sold it to me said that will burn the chip in the card.

Normally Sky boxes dont do disecq, so unless the 13E lnb is on port 1 it doesnt work. HOWEVER if you delve around in the deeper functions of the menu you will find a multisat option. Im pretty sure it will only do 2 way disecq though, so the 13E will need to be on port 1 or 2.

To be honest - the easiest thing to do is just give the Italia box its own dedicated cable.

Can you please give more information about how/where you got the Sky Italia package and the cost and if this included a dedicated SKY Italia receiver. Thank you.:)
I think that you need a married Sky Italia card and receiver for this to work.

thanks for the info!

as a temporary solution, can i just swap the cables in the disecq switch so that 13e is on A or B, or does this mess up the system somehow? at the moment, i have 1w, 5e, 13e and 19e (from A to D).

also, would you know how to get the remote work so that it doesn't interfere with my sky UK box? both remotes are similar and i think they are Pace boxes as well, so this is annoying to say the least!
 
Yes, changing it to input one should solve the problem.

The remote control solution would be to cover the sensors on the front of the box and use patch cables from RF2 to an SPC4 which can code the Remotes to only operate the required receiver. _http://www.tvlink.co.uk/spc4.htm
