Advice Needed Multistream from 5W

Can anyone explain what is the difference between Root code and Gold code?
It seems that they have same effect on the received signal. If I have the code I can lock the signal.
Every professional receivers accept only one code and it is the Gold one, no way using the Root code.
Instead, the consumer boxes accept both codes.
I never understood the differences. Thanks.

5.0W_12731 V,29500,8/9,8PSK is also locked with Root code PLS 175803 for all MIS.

Hi,
basically the root and the gold codes are the same: every channel work with both codes, it's only a matter of what kind of code your STB will accept.

12605 V,35300,2/3,8PSK with Multi 4,5,6 activated(new). PLS code 16416

Also, what do I put in Roll-off, Pilot, InputStream, and fot T2MI PLP? Also a PLS code on my receiver is a 6 figure number, yet you have given a 5 figure number.

Solved: I used the converter to change Root 16416 to Gold 131070, and got a signal lock and lots of Italian channels.

Advanced users do three manual searches with
InputStream 4
InputStream 5
InputStream 6

PLS code 16416 is = 016416

T2MI is OFF (for multistream)

Hi,
I have an edision os mio+ 4k, and a an old Silvercrest SL65 ( dvb-s). The latter is boxed up.

Some history:
I went though two Echostar 3000 ( or a 3600), but these started crashing on some DVB-S channels because it did not know how how to handle some values sent from the TPs. It was a good box because Icould get SECAM from 5W in colour, and RTBF intl plus UK channels in digital. But one box blew up and the other got lost during house moves. Before this I had an analog Sky box from when they broadcast from 19.2, but this box was buried in landfill and has likely decomposed by now. :-)

Aha thanks for the info, I've quite a few sat receivers as my profile shows incl some which do multistream

It seems that only for you did the MIS Italians disappear at 5.0W.
I did a test at this position and found that, apart from 11179 V, all Italian transponders are active.

Let's hope that the TP "breakdown" that interests me the most will be quickly repaired.

After almost a month of side by side broadcasting 11179V is now turned OFF but the new frequency active is 12605 V (with the same parameters).
Stream: 4, 5 and 6
