Mutant HD51 (And other E2 Boxes) Diseqc/Usals Motor Fix.

The VU+ Zero 4K is listed as having DVB-S2X tuners, there were claims that the other VU+ 4K receivers are supposed to be capable of handling DVB-S2X tuners with future updates.
Taken from the VU+ website:
VU+ Zero 4K
Advanced Single DVB-S2X tuner or
Single DVB C/T2 Tuner
Yes only the VU+ Zero 4k Zapper box has the S2X, I spoke to VU+ and they said the tuners are not ready yet for the other boxes :(

@MCelliotG

Looks like Octagon SF4008 is having the same problem:

I believe this issue got fixed with an update. Generally they supported the Silabs tuner better than Mutant. Their driver reads the signal correctly and is even supporting auto values for almost every parameter (except blind lock that only Dreambox has ftm).
If I find some time I will compile a full table with what's working or not between different Silabs receivers/drivers.

The motor issue is purely driver based. Think about this only, the default power measurement value is a global setting that is now set to false. If it was that crucial, it would affect all tuners and all receivers, it clearly does not. I don't remember any image allowing the user to set this manually anyway.
Besides this value set to true creates other issues. This is why I told you it's a workaround rather than a fix. A fix rectifies all problem.
BTW, my joy lasted for a little while.
After I rebooted my HD51 I saw that my tuner is no longer functional. I had to revert to an older settings backup to get it back... oh well :(

This is a big mess :(

That would be very helpful to everyone if you don't mind doing the list.

Miraclebox Micro Premium is one box you can set this in GUI on Vix/pli/atv.

One question guys : is this fix also applicable on SF 4008 ? I've have only this in my settings file.

config.Nims.0.dvbs.configMode=nothing
config.Nims.1.dvbs.diseqcMode=positioner
config.Nims.1.dvbs.latitude=46.223
config.Nims.1.dvbs.longitude=14.360

What image is it?

sorry forgot to mention : openatv 6.1

yes i do...
in same rare cases when using the motor SF4008 sometimes get a lock immediately and sometimes i have to switch back and forward to get a lock. I have no patience to wait 1 minute after dish has move to desire sat.
But it happens very rarely...

This sounds like the same issue :(
Underneath config.Nims.1.dvbs.longitudeOrientation you should see config.Nims.1.dvbs.powerMeasurement=false change to true.
If its not there try adding config.Nims.1.dvbs.powerMeasurement=true

Added and it seems it working. Will follow the behaviour of the motor in the next days. Thanks for the tip !!

I dared not reboot the box for this reason, but I did in the end... and all still seems to be functional.

Looking at an image timeline and testing here, this bug seems to have been introduced in 2017, I can't pinpoint the exact date though.

For OPENATV images only!
Test this satconfig.py, it's from PurE2 images that works on OpenATV
Go to /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/
if you have Satconfig.py rename it to Satconfig.py.bak
if you have Satconfig.pyo only rename it to Satconfig.pyo.bak
Send the py after you unzip the file to that folder
Reboot enigma2

This is a workaround that adds the powermeasurement options to the HD51 and H7 receivers, however the motor works without the option enabled. It's a workaround also.

My Octogan SF4008 drives my dark motor nearly as fast as my 5402 Technomate! With accurate signal readings aswell.
Was worried i may have this lock issue when puchased. Been running vix & atv builds.

No mate in the latest builds it clears the channels straight away (as long as they are stored (And active obviously! lol) channels) but I believe those E2 boxes with a blind scan don't "find" anything when going about this process (i.e. doing a blind scan on whatever sat(s) ). What Dark Motor do you have? Love mine, The "Superior" all metal gear model I have, the one with the gimmick 3 number LED display came out slightly later than the original two and wouldn't have interested me anyway, especially with the price point being higher again. Any float in your motor stub? Mine was fine but I heard there was ones with some play, never had that with the Technomates I used to use, they just rusted up like raw iron instead the guff!
