Just recently joined and figured I'd post my setup. On c band I'm using a channel master 10'(3m) mesh bud:

I was going to add to the initial post by editing but I guess it's not permitted. My bud arcs all c band sats from ExpressAM44 at 11w-Gallaxy13 at 127w. My ku band setup consists of a Fortecstar 8'(2.4m) prime focus solid. My ku band arc is from Telstar 12 at 15w-Galaxy18 at 123w. Both dishes are moved with 24" VonWeise actuators:

Nice :)

Such big dishes are unusual in much of Europe simply because of the lack of space available.

I'm aware of that, I lived in south west Greece for 8 years prior to returning home. First thing I look at when buying a house is the back yard space and a clear path to the south.

Both are lovely dishes, and thanks for the screenshots as well.

At what western point do the C-Band birds switch to circular for you mate?

Thanks. Circular c band sats on my arc at 11, 18, 22, 24.5, 27.5, 37.5, 40.5 and 53w. 55.5 w to 127 that are in my footprint are linear.

and Sadly 58 West is where my coverage ends ..
Luckilly some of the South American channels etc ...are aimed on a second though weaker beams both from 55 and 58 West to Hispanic speaking Europe..
So I get to intercept those ..
One of my favourite muxes being the English speaking Jamaican mux on 55.5 West..
Borderline for me ...but just do-able.

Incidentaly ...I can now receive something from every transponder on Intelsat 9 @ 58 west with one exception ..
Family Christian Network :- 4136 H
tp 22 Family Christian Network
Is this transponder actually active ? ...or is it just very very low power ?

Intelsat 9 at 58w is a quite strong sat here in this neck of the woods. FCN normally scans in without issues but there is no signal at the moment- just took a pic of NHK hd channel:

So what's the oddest/favourite catch you can watch right now, be it newsfeed, sport feed, channel or whatever?

Costactc, is cband used for feeds and uplinks in your country or are the direct to home tv services in cband as well ?

Is there a lot to view on cband and is it unecrypted ?

our limit in the uk is 1.2m or larger if you dont have any neighbours.

My favourite of all have to be the CBS sports feeds that only my azbox can open as they are 4:2:2 feeds:

I use c band for feeds and uplinks although there is a pay service to home called 4dtv. Of the approximate 1,200 open fta channels above me I would say about 75% of them are on c band and most hd channels are also on that band. I live in a city where about 20 years ago your only choice for tv was about 10 ota channels or 4dtv with a bud, city bylaw allows for a dish to not exceed 90 feet.

Have you encountered any MPEG-4 4:2:2 yet? Here it is becoming increasingly common.

Nice! Is the FortecStar dish C band as well as Ku or Ku only? They are not known to be great performers in Ku over here....

Remlap, yep, the CBS feeds he gets are 4:2:2

It can be used for both bands but I'd rather have my feeds being seperate. Although an offset dish would probably show me better signal quality then my prime focus Fortec, pretty much all ku sats scanning in at about 99%.
