My C band install

These C band signals seem to have a mind of their own, last night I managed to grab this image of the ERTU testcard on 1W, this morning there's no sign of the transponder but the BBC signal has come up from 1% to 6% so that's the second piccy. Finally another new one since I've fined tuned my plate, NTA IDing as NW program on 27.5W.

Maybe someone could check something for me, I've been blindscanning what I'm sure is 20W, it finds 3766L 2500 7/8 QPSK everytime but when I enter them into DVB Dream it fails to show a signal. What reason would there be for only one app to lock a signal?

A couple more pics tonight, this time from my 1m Gibertini with the scalar adapter fitted by Messrs Heath and Robinson. The only signal available to the East is 3675R on 40E. Looking at the listings they all suggest TP6 has its own footprint but nowhere details them. It's the only transponder I can find on it and with the station similarity to 4135 I presume they do have different footprints?

Last week Pride was kind enough to send me one of his depolariser plates and I've spent the afternoon comparing signals between it and the chopping board design, results are interesting and the only conclusion I can draw is that each plate needs to be fine tuned for an individual installation. I'll try this in table form showing the transponder and satellite, the strength/quality of Prides plate then the values for the nylon plate.

2.8E - 3971R - 79/12 - 78/10
2.8E - 4102R - 82/20 - 82/26

0.8W - 4025R - 80/9 - 79/2

5W - 3656R - 81/14 - 81/20
5W - 4114L - 88/48 - 89/90

11W - 3662R - 79/30 - 79/41

22W - 4115L - 83/75 - 85/100
22W - 4179R - 84/48 - 85/52

27.5W - 3764R - 82/89 - 81/78
27.5W - 3936R - 80/42 - 79/28

40.5W - 4189L - 86/27 - 86/46

Another gain thanks to Pride's plate is 34.5W, it initially allowed me to find the satellite so I can add 3743L Télé Côte d'Ivoire to my line up. It is significantly stronger compared to the chopping board design, 84/33 to 81/12. It also decodes 4140R but isn't quite strong enough to render the MTN Info card.

What is Pride's design? Will it work in the conical feed?

hi aceb i am glad the plate is working for you,i found it worked quite good on weak transponders,hi huevos it should work with connical feed.cheers

Hi Heuvos, Pride was good enough to send me one of his builds for me to try on my PF, more info about it on this thread.

I spotted a new (to me) transponder this morning on 58W 3924V 6620 3/4, channels include Enlace TBN.
