My Channel Master 1.2 install

My Satellite Setup
Several Receivers, Motorised CM 1.2m dish, Hybrid Titanium Smart Lnb with CM feedhorn, 80cm Triax with Stab HH 100 Motor, Golden Media GM202 Lnb and a Zone2 minidish, Dur-line Unicable II Lnb.
My Location
53°E - 45°W
I thought i'd put up a few pics of my new install.

I previously had a 1.1m Triax dish with a motec2100 fitted, but when the wind hit the Triax the signals dropped big time.

So I bought the Channel Master from ebay about 8 months ago, and finally got around to fitting it on sunday.

Anyway some pics.

Looks sturdy. A novel "cut through the gutter" approach! What's the signal improvement like over the Triax?

Yeh it's very sturdy, as it goes through the roof space, it's butted up against a roof beam.

As for signal improvement, it's probably around 20 - 30% better.

I was going to use 7°w as the benchmark for it, but as they put AB7 there yesterday it's moved the goal posts a bit, as I could only get 13 channels from 7°w with the triax, and now I get around 600 lol.

However I can just about get a signal from 26°e although it isn't stable.
 
Nice installation, certainly an ingenious way to fix the pole :)

I am really pleased with how solid the pole is, and therefore the dish at the top.

When aligning it, trying to wobble to dish, up and down / side to side, was a nightmare as it just didn't want to budge (unlike the triax, which was on a scaffold pole, and was happy to wobble about in any direction lol).

Hopefully when winter comes, and the leaves drop off the tree's i'll beable to get 39°e and 26°e as these are the only 2 sats I seem to be struggling with.

nice i'm so wanting to put up my 1.2m but stuck with 90cm at the moment due to no proper ladders, as the dish is rather heavy to lift up some fold up ladders.

is the dish fixed to the roof beam as i would be tempted to fit a k bracket to the bottom of the pole to make sure its solid.

26e should be strong on that size dish once the leaves die off the tree.

No it's not fixed to the beam, there is no need, as it's pushed tight to the beam on the right, but there is also wood above the soffit that is holding the pole in place, so it can't move in any direction (other than down).

good, is that an inverto black ultra lnb on the dish ?

now you need to sort the trees at the end of the garden, accidental slip with hedge cutters lol

Yeh it's an inverto black ultra twin.

I do have a CM feedhorn, so at some point I may try and modify the inverto to work with the feedhorn (although for the moment I am happy with how it's working).

Yes the tree's need sorting out, but the council seem to be dragging there heels with that at the moment.

I have same problems with trees next door to me at the school we told them bout trees they are very very very high they came and just trimmed the bloody things still look same.reason why ive had to have a 1.2m,the trees cover all west arc

Yeh these tree's are too high, they are nearly touching the powerlines above, and kids keep climbing them too.

Lots of people have the same problem with 39e and further east. You should get the stronger beams from 39e right through the bare branches!

39°e was working fine for me, until around may time, then it just vanished over night.
