You may have already used it but if the Chinasat radio station is still active on 45.0 West in Ku-Band it will allow you to check the Western arc beyond 30.0 West.

45.0 West will be a good marker for your C-Band from 40.5W, 47.5W and 55.5W. I am not sure if you will get anything from 43.1W or 45.0W in C-Band with a 1.8m dish?
The local area inside the southern half of the M25 seems to be a decent zone for some of the fringe beams in Ku-Band and C-Band so you could get lucky with 43.1W and 45.0W C-Band?

.. just checked, still there, good strength up here on a CM 1.2, 13dB plus - top side of Nottingham

I think 25.5 East is unlikely but 39.0 East from the Middle East beam might just be possible with a bit of luck and good weather?

That is a DSTV sub saharan beam frequency.
DSTV have a few frequencies on that satellite and beam. For some reason that particular one at 12245H is around 8dB stronger that any of their other frequencies.

I have noticed with some E2 receivers in the WebIf that if the channel is changed from an FTA to an encrypted channel it sometimes keeps the FTA picture in the WebIf.
The on screen info comes from the current encrypted channel but the picture comes from the previous FTA channel.

Yes mate, still getting the odd strong gusts every now and then so playing safe for the time being. Looks like it will calm down up here in the next couple of days so will crank it back up then i recon.

just wondered mate, the winds have really got up tonight..didnt expect it, but as bad as friday.
my 1.2 is out of alignment currently- i thought it was ok, but it wasn't - just glad it stayed up.
as u know - got the 1.8 sorted now - the 24" QARL seems to be solid and working a treat thus far with actuator closed at 45e - wont be extending out until the winds calm down. was planning to play with some CBAND today but rain and winds stopped play.
how is your 1.2 fitted \ motorised..? ground level or up ?

Yep, best to play safe for a few days yet, those high gusts are very vicious and must be treated with respect.
Iv'e got two roof mounted 1.2mtr rigs- one's a 1.2 Gibby (24' up) that's kitted out with an lnb changer holding four different Ka band lnb's and one Upper Ku 13.4-13.65GHz lnbf.
The other roof mounted one (25' up) is a 1.2mtr CM kitted out at the moment with a SMW Ku lnb with motorised pol/skew.
The 2.2mtr is usually a dedicated Cband rig but at the moment has a small pll Ku lnbf stuck inside it's feed orifice to have a look at some of these Mena beam frequencies but the storms have put the mockers on that for the time being.

I read in your "meter" topic that you are losing 0.3dB when going through your v-box. That loss could make the difference between a lock and no lock if you are just under the threshold of a lock on any signal.
Personally, if I use a v-box, I use it in standalone mode and have the cable run from the LNB direct to the receiver, DVB card or meter.

However, I can see the convenience of changing channel on the receiver and getting the dish to move.
