My DB500S dead! Help needed

I have a new DB500. It was up and running well, but after sending "pli-Jade3-dm500-20090627-6494" to the box with DCC FTP it do deleting the old, and loaded the new
softw. ok, but when resetting it never started up!
The green led go on and the scart made TVset go to right channel.
I cant connect to the box anymoore (try with Dreamup and other thru network)
What to do??

Hi @leffep,

First, have you tried a Flash Erase (Power down box at mains plug and wait a few seconds, reconnect power and Immediately Press & Hold the Up button on the front panel until the LCD display says Flash Erase). Once this has completed, see if it will boot and work normally.

If, after Flash Erase, it still does not boot properly, then it is time for the RS232 Null Modem cable and Dreamup. With the box in its current state, you cannot use the network connection.

My box have not the "up button" and only have powerswitch. I´ts a DB500S clone.......

Hi Leif,

In that case it will have to be an RS232 Null Modem Cable and Dreamup.
When you run Dreamup, select YES to Flash Erase before the installation of the new image.
You can try the PLi image again, or this (safe for clones) modified Gemini 4.70 Image:

It has PLi Zapstream installed and has the clone bomb removed.

I´ts a DB500S clone.......

At least all is not lost. The DM500 boxes are more or less throw away now when anything goes wrong with them.

I've seen them go for a little as £40 on ebay

You just need to re-flash it with a null modem and dream up and you should fine. Most people think they've bricked the box at this stage but its common if you haven't flashed it properly. Next time when flashing use Flash Wizard its much simpler than DCC and is fail-free (pretty much never failed with it and i've flashed 100's)

That solved my problem, i´ve not possible to work vith the box on some months now. But with all help my box now running again!
