I am getting a bit bored with feed hunting.I think that I will have a go at CBand with my 105 cm Dish.I know that it is a bit small.
One has to make do with what one has hasn't one.:)
I have in the past got a few CBand transponders with my 100cm Orbital Dish.
However I am getting a bit brain dead lately.I have forgotten most of what I have read about CBand setup.I have spent most of the day adapting the feed arm to take my CBand LNB.
There will be lots of adjusting to do.the bend on the LNB holder is the first attempt,no signal.
Not surprising as the longitude has moved from 1.5 West to 0.2 West.First job is to reset the longitude of the Dish.
Not a quick job, once the Dish is loosened on the pole the elevation will need to be reset too.It is going to be a bit nippy sat on the shed roof.
It could take a while.:)

At least 20E & 40E should be in range - Ive had c band on both of those on a 1m dish in the past :)

I have just had a look an old thread that I posted.I did get tps from 40 West.odd ones from20 W and 49 E.However I have a nasty feeling that my 100cm Orbital is better than my no name 105 cm Dish .Time will tell.View attachment 126793

Ku-band or C-band, same rule should be obeyed: To get maximum performance of the system, phase center of the LNB shpuld be co-located with antenna's focal point. At the same time LNB should be pointed to the proper point on the surface of the dish. Of course, impressions in C-band case are having less effect than in Ku-band installations.

I was thinking about something universal to be installed on more or less any offset satellite antenna. And I came to solution like this: possible to install Ku-band LNB in the focus of the dish. After changing of clamp and adjusting of the height C-band LNB can also be installed. If needed, multifeed also can be installed on the same mount. @pontiend if you think you need something from those metal parts, you can get them for a price of the materials plus shipping.

A little less analogue, and a lot more crap.

Pontiend could do with a 1.5m offset dish made of the same material as those feed adapters

The last go was in 2017.I did have an adjustable lnb holder on my100 cm dish.It was just a jury rigged job though not swoppable.
I thought that I would try and make a holder that I can swop between KU and C Band. When I find out that I cannot get this to work I will try and make an adjustable one.:)
Really it is just something to keep me busy.:)Can't wait to get going again today hopefully the rain will keep off for a couple of days
Edit. This will be a bodge job too it is the only type of job that I do.:)
