Reception is pretty good now.I got a bit of Greenland on the last NOAA 18 pass.Well I think that it is Greenland.:) The interference bars are a bit worse than normal.Probably because the satellite was at 24 MEL 21 West

I have been doing a little experimenting as one dose when one has nothing better to do:-).
My thinking is that if I moved north I would access the satellites farther north.Might even get the north pole. First I moved lock stock and barrel to Reykjavik 64.1265N 21.8174 W better but not enough.A quick flit to NUUK Greenland 64.1814 N 51.6941 W.a bit better I get Canada from there.I might get a look at the north pole up the Norwegian coast.I looks like another quick flit.:)Moved to Narvic 68.4385 N 17.4273 E this time Got some weather too.Not quite up to the north pole though.Ha well another flit farther north up to Nordkapp 71.1695N 25.7832E this time.I did not expect anything from there got a bit of weather. It I can get my antenna to the top of the Emley Moor Mast I could be knocking on Terryls door.Unless of course I am tolaly of my rocker and gone doolally.
Most of the Greenland passes are too far West. The Reykjavik West passes get as far as Canada.A lot of the Nordnapp passes are too far East Weather is possible with the near zero ones.
This is a bit disjointed because I am writing it as I go along.
the NUUK one is from last night 9.15pm
Waiting for a NOAA 19 pas at Ittoqqortoormiit northern Greenland 70.4856 N -21.9628 at14:53 7 West of there If I get signal I should see farther north.
Ther yellow cross marks the spot.

This takes some typing I am only going to do it once.
Ittoqqortoomiit.Greenland.
First pass NOAA 18.MEL 38 WEST Long 39 West.14:16A bit too far west.
Next one is NOOA 15 MEL 27 W Long24 West 14:51 a bit better.Damm just realized I cannot do this one.
Next is promising NOOA 19 MEL 46 E Long 7 West 14:53

Ittoqqortoomiit.Greenland.
Second pass MEL 46 E Long 7W.The recording started 2 minutes late it would have been better. I think that I have the north pole on this one.
Greenland is sideways on that is Norway at the bottom
Next promising pass is.
MEL 32 E Long 4 W 16:29 I will start the recording 2 minutes early for this one.
I should point out that it is 4 West of Ittoqqortoomiit.Greenland.

Eh?? If you move location in wxtoimg surely all you get is the North Pole map overlaid onto the European weather pictures. Or have I misunderstood - its been a very very long day at work!

You only get the arctic circle on very northern locations. You don't get it at lower latitudes such as Reykjavic iceland.
I think that Ittoqqortoomiit.Greenland. is near the arctic circle.I couild be totaly wrong of course I did say that I was experimenting and having a lot of fun doing it.:)That is what we are supposed to be doing here.It would be nice to know one way or another.Give it a go.:)

The way that I looked at it.If WXtoimg thinks that you are located in Narvic Norway.it is going to start scanning the satellite at a more northern location.

Also in the relevant satellite pass list the long and lat and pass times of the same satellite are different.

Once you change your location you must update the Keplers file in WXtoImg, or you will be off on the overlays.

This is better NOAA 19.I have a same brand dongle on the other computer for plane spotting.I swopped them round.Swopped them back still ok.So not the dongles. My audio still keeps defaulting from cable to my tv audio .That may have been the problem.I think that the cause of that is the R7 Radeon graphics card in this computer It is connected to the TV with HDMI. At some time I will connect the computer with the DVI connection.

The thing that cleaned my far north & south noise bars up was the upotronics amplifier. Ive also been looking at the pagers blips with respect to the noaa's. N19 seems to give me the cleanest pics here. And seeing that half the time N15 scans are so badly corrupted they aint worth using I dont bother too much with 15
