My go at WXSAT

I may have found the problem. The RTL dongle may be faulty.I have swoped it with the RTL dongle that I use with VRS it does not work with Dump 1090.I will test it the next time that I can catch NOAA 15.

This mornings scan of NOAA 15 is not a good one .Although the satellite was well over in the west, perhaps the trees were interfering with the signal. I will see what the scans are like this evening.18.26 hr Mel 27 E Long16 E and 20.02 hr Mel 65 W Long 6 W
EDIT.
The 11:22 scan of NOAA 19 at Mell 48 W Long 11 W.Nothing wrong with that one.The trees do not interfere with it

Do you want to try a little used dongle for testing (oooerrr) ?

I missed the 18:26 scan still enjoying my can of Bud down the garden :).Waiting for the 20:02 pass. The path is Mel 65 W Long 6 W the trees should not interfer with that pass.I do have three of these dongles one seems to be a dud.I will keep in mind your offer of trying another dongle.

Nope this one is worse. Not even a rendered picture this time.Just the original scan.I There are not many passes of NOAA 15 it will take a while to sort this.

I finaly got my brain into gear and googled NOAA15 problem..
The satellite is having problems with its scanning motor.
Panic over.:D

@pontiend The guys on the facebook APT group Im in are reporting major problems with NOAA15 passes. I suspect the old gal is broken again.

I have a look at NOAA 15 every few days wondering if they will get it going again.Earlier tonight I got a good scan.Thinking that I must have got something wrong I waited for the 19:48 pass to confirm that I was not imagining things. The second scan was good it looks like the problem may have been sorted.

I give in .The 19:22 pass looks alright, the only thing altered is the Mel and Long settings.
