My Satellite Setup
Vu+ duo with a 300gb hdd also dm500 and tecnomate 5200 with a 1m and 1.1m motorized dishes and minidish fixed to 28.2

Finally got round to sending my set-up in..can any 1 id the dish please??

I think that the dish is an unbranded one, as sold a lot on ebay.

Dare say Chris, you couldnt have fitted in a more exposed place.
 
Something that would worry me a little about the install, is the closeness of the T bracket to the top edge of the brickwork. There can be a danger of the brick getting pulled out. Hopefully will be Ok though.
 
no real choice m8 there is a conservatory out the back and if it was to fall it wouldn't be pretty. so that was the only other spot to get the arc. I am going to move it down the garden but not for a while probably in the summer.
 
Well apart from the comments above (hard to disagree with!), well done.

It won't take you long to reinstall it again once you've put a mount in the garden. In fact, putting the mount up will be the biggest job.

Just going to take my time with the mount then all the rest will fall into place..Im thinking of digging the garden for the cable but im looking for a good way to seal the cable from ingress.I have seen the plastic stuff the cable installers use and to be honest i wouldn't be happy with that. so any recommendations are welcome.
 
Actually Chris that cable is designed for outsides , the sticky stuff is to stop water ingress, so wouldnt be a bad idea, A few lengths of plastic conduit to feed cable through under the soil.

As Robbo pointed out bracket spacing and your pole looks too small in diameter, Didnt want to comment too far because you have done well, But those points would concern me !! Especially in the winter months.
 
Well it looks like an easy enough fix guys just to space the brackets out more i have also got a 2" pole to mount the motor. i will post the results back after the weekend...
 
Yes, and move the top one down or over a bit, so it's not right near the edge. But as dale says you have done well nonetheless. A lot of people get legs like jelly going anywhere near where you've put that, myself included about 4 years ago, but now conquered the fear, LOL.

In the past, as advised by one of the other mods on here, Ive used solvent weld plumbing waste pipe to bury cables under ground.
 
Glad you decided to sort the mast out. Otherwise good job. It's nice and neat. :)

Just updating the photo's of my new installs. first is the 1.1m triax with a TM2600 motor parked @13e and using the inverto black ultra 30w - 39e, and the newest addition is the andrews parked @4.8e using a 3" mount grounded by cutting a 78mm hole and cement. Im now able to receive all tp's but 12341 H 27500 3/4 and 12437 V 27500, 12456 H 27500, 12399 V 27500 any ideas as to how i could improve this with the dish i have ATM?

I'm betting they are all the HD transponders for Viasat, as when I checked, a few weeks ago, these were considerably harder to pick up than the SD channels. What are your signal strength/quality readings for the rest of 4.8E?
 
Your right on the money mickha the majority are hd channels why is this? I will list the results on all Nordic tp's after Liverpool hump Chelsea lol. I will regret saying that no doubt
 
I'm beginning to think they cut the power, to the HD channels, in an attempt to stop as many people viewing them outside their country.

All the tp's im missing are just out of range the duo cant lock but the meter jumps in and out of lock...also it seems to be all the high tp's above 12300 that will not lock.
 
I would have thought you might get higher readings than that, but then I don't have a VU+ receiver to compare them to, and all receivers seem to give different readings,
Is that the maximum you can get from tweaking the dish and LNB?
It looks like you're using an inverto LNB, have you tried moving the LNB back, and forth, to peak the signal? Have you got a CM feedhorn, and LNB, you can try?

Isn't it at night the satellite moves to face the sun to recharge the batteries so the satellite footprint alters slightly.

I doubt they will care as anybody in Europe viewing will be seen as being in one of the Nordic countries buy the address used.
 
What size is that dish, Chris? The mounting looks different from the old Channel Master dishes.

I couldn't get the higher frequency HD channels on my 85cm Penta in the evenings but they are booming in on the 1.2m here in Bristol.
