This is some of the sickest stuff I've ever seen. There are some real idiots out there! :mad:

One of them called up their animal psychic to see if their monkey had eaten some of their meds. The psychic spoke to the monkey over the phone, and the monkey said it had not taken the pills (telepathically). :-rofl2

It would be funny if it weren't so sick, these self indulged idiots are adopting monkeys because they cant have kids of their own. There are 1000's of orphans (Burma post cyclone springs to mind) living a life of hell all over the world, and these idiots adopt monkeys that were bred for that purpose. :-Nooo

I did unfortunately see some of it and decided to turn over, whilst I understand what you are saying as regards all the unwanted children in the world, some would also say what is the difference between adopting a monkey and keeping a dog or cat? As humans we are all different, all have different circumstances, needs and desires and as such all have the line drawn at a slightly different place.

I say if it makes them happy and stops them turning into certifiable fruitcakes who are a danger to themselves and others in society, then what is the harm? provided they do not inflict this onto others by expecting others to accept their pets as part of the family when eating out in a restaurant.
 
The recent Dispatches documentary titled 'Orphans of Burma's Cyclone' was still fresh in my mind when I watched this program, so in that context adopting a monkey because you couldn't have kids of your own just seemed wrong.

Also, for me the difference between adopting cats and dogs, and adopting monkeys is that the former are domesticated animals, while the monkeys are wild animals which are being kept in captivity and bred for adoption.
