Maby a bracket like these had been a better choise for your setup. I have never used the T and K bracket but i see that they are offen used in UK , the one i show in pics. are more used in sweden

Looks good allright Hakon.
I like the idea of the bracket having minimum contact with the wall .I had to remove the dash off my wall to put the T brackets on ,a messy job to get the plate flush with the wall.
I'd need Spider brackets with an offset of at least 50cm to allow the dish to turn enough Westwards without hitting the wall.
Because of their design they may stop the dish turning enough westwards ,edge of dish may hit the support arm.

Dont get me wrong,the T brackets I currently have up are rock solid ,they will easily support the dish and me hanging off it if necessary:)

I may change to the hh390 soon as I think my Superjack is faulty .It wont move Eastwards anymore .

In the end I gave up and did it manually as I read a good few people had similar issues with Usals and the 500s.

On a side note my diy skills are now not only limited to satellite installations.
After fine tuning the dish and admiring my work I put my big right foot through the roof and broke a good few slates.:eek:
I had to reslate some of the roof (new slates are noticeable in some pics) to appease the ball and chain.lol

I have never been able to drive a 500 correctly using usals.But the install is excellent and working as it should as you can manually track the arc great work fano and well thought out.The next step is a new stb and your usals problem will disappear.

Nice set up
I'm wanting to do the same with my 80cm dish but i had read that the db500 isn't very good or didn't have enough power to drive the motor. Have you had any problems or does it work ok

I gave up on Usals ages ago,it didnt work on my 500s.
I upgraded to a 600s earlier this year and tried Usals on that but again ,it was unacceptable.Certain positions were ok but alot of them were miles off,28.2 was 4 degrees off .
I just used manual positioning .

My 500s drove the dish perfectly .
My 600s has issues .It will only move the motor on vertical polarity (13v) it cant move it on horizontal polarity(18v).Its a bit of a nuisance but as long as I choose a vertical channel to move the motor it works fine.If i choose horizontal ,it doesnt move.
My 800s seems to drive the dish fine,but I havent used it that much on my motor.

It's reassuring to know that your 500 drove the motor ok. Mines a clone so hoping it will do the same.
Seems like you are getting a nice collection of dreamboxes!!
 
I like the idea of reinforcing the motor clamps with 2 steel plates. Might be worth treating them or covering with self amalgamating tape to prevent too much rust.
