My Multi Sat Project with Sky Mini Dishes

It's currently a work in progress and the Astra 2/ Astra 1 setup is only temporary. I'm planning to upgrade to a Zone 2 Mini Dish atached to the railing zia U Bolts and a pole mount at some point and then eather add extra LNBs or go down the DiseqC Motor or USals Motor Route.

My current system comprises of a Zone 1 Mini Dish fixed to the house wall aligned on Astra 2/Eurobird 1 for Freesat with feeds 1 & 2 From the Quad LNB going into a Humax Foxsat-HDR 500 for Freesatwhile Feed 3 goes into input 1 of a 2 way DiseqC switch with a second Quad LNB taped on with Waterproof Gaffa tape for Astra 1, Feed 1 from the Astra 1 Quad LNB goes into input 2 of the DiseqC switch then the output is fed into a Humax Foxsat-HD for Freesat and Non Freesat Channels along with Astra 1 Channels LNB output 4 on the 28.2/5e LNB is currently un-used and LNB outputs 2, 3 & 4 on the 19.2e LNB are currently un-used, the cables still need a bit of tidying up.

It works pretty well apart from not being able to get the TVP Transponder on 19.2e, hopefully when I get the second dish setup I'll be able to get that Transponder but for now everything works OK for my needs.

Here's all the current pictures of my setup I'll add a picture of the signal strength with the DiseqC Switch at some point.

The setup looks a little unsightly with the clear Gaffa Tape but as it's waterproof it saves having to re align and tape every so often, but when I get round to using a seperate dish for other Sats and the zone 1 for 28.2/5e it will look alot tidier.

This Multi Sat lark is very addictive and I'm going to do it bit by bit to cut down on the costs involved.

Hi Analogsat, I'll upload them as soon as I can find all the Pictures that I've got on my computer. I was only going to do it via my Skydrive as it makes it simpler to keep my pictures updated between my Project thread on here and the various other threads that I've contributed to on DS.

Yeah it is, but it's not 100% perfect that's why I want to add another dish, & maybe a propper Multi Sat reciver instead of using the Humax Foxsat-HD for Multi Sat and putting the Foxsat-HD into the Bedroom for Freesat.

Nothing wrong with using the Foxsat for multi-sat.

I have used mine both motorised and with multi-LNBs/dishes.

Would be better if it had Blind/Auto Search, however, but then again our own preference is for severely truncated Channel lists.

I don't mind using the Foxsat for 28.2/5e and 19.2e but it's a pain having to remember to input the button code to get to the advanced menu to add channels, and the having to save a complete Transponder to the channels list is a pain as there are loads of data channels on 19.2e that I don't want to have to delete everytime I have to add channels, and the Foxsat would be more use in the bedroom as I've got a Humax Foxsat-HDR 500 in the livingroom for Freesat so something more flexable for Multi Sat would be a welcome addition to the Livingroom.

That's not my actual Postcode, it's my old Postcode before I moved and as the Foxsat-HD is not my main box anymore as I use a Foxsat-HDR 500 as my main box I didn't see any point in changing the Postcode.
