My satellite dish

It just goes to show how good the Gibertini 1m really are, there is minimal difference if you had gone for the Gibertini 1.25 you would have seen a far greater improvement. I have tested both the Gibertini 1m and the Triax 1.1m with a Black ultra and can tell you now the Gibby beats it only as above a slight improvement but it does beat it.

If your going for a 1.2 then its either got to be a Channel master first or a Gibby 1.25 second.

Here are the Viasat signals viasat fotboll = 79.3%
all viasat channels are 79.3% - 80.0% some are 82.0%
viasat promo 88.0%.
Better stronger signals today on
kiss tv 45 east 86.0%
the voice 39 east 85.3%

Loads of free channels on Nilesat signals are from 76.5% - 80.0%
Fox and fox movies are great !
never managed to receive all these channels before on my 1m Gibertini dish so the cdtronix 1.2 dish is a massive improvement as far as getting a lot more channels.
thanks Tivu so thats why i was getting strong signals from that satellite its the new Atlantic Bird 7. :-bighappy

That's because they aren't from Nilesat at all but from the new Atlantic Bird 7.

We had many reports some weeks ago remarking upon the relative ease of reception in the UK.

Just an update i have been tweaking motor settings in the receiver menu and managed to improve the signal on viasat promo to 88.5% and the voice to 86.0%. Edit Just found out what was causing the motor to get stuck it was the Lnb cable connector to the motor that was loose,It had unscrewed itself so i screwed it back on and made sure it was tight checked receiver cable connector and that is connected tight as well.:-laugh

well the motor still keeps getting stuck in this freezing weather today.Had to reset the motor on the ladders 3 times by pressing east and west buttons together till red light blinks then press east.so until the weather warms up its staying on Astra 19.2.

Is there not a hardware reset on the motor usually a pin hole near the led to reset the motor with a paper clip.

have you tried factory defaulting the receiver and starting from scratch ?

yes i have factory defaulted receiver and started from scratch tuned all channels in on satellites.sometimes motor just gets stuck it will move west but not east until i reset the motor by going up the ladders to do a reset then all is fine again until motor needs resetting. This is the only way to get it working i have tried everything else in the receiver menu,I think its just the way this motor works, most days it works for hours then at night it gets stuck again in this freezing cold weather.I hope when the weather is warmer with no ice it will work fine every day with no problems instead of having to reset motor on ladders.

Just been reading the instructions for the motor and it says ,Troubleshooting the H - H Mount symptoms The mount runs intermittently 1 Make sure the antenna is not too heavy or too large.
So it might be getting stuck because the dish is too heavy.Specification antenna size 120cm Max.On the box it says motor will drive up to 1.4m dish at very high speed.

Don't most diseqc motors indicate if they go over current, flashing LED or something? Something it could do if the dish is too heavy or the grease is thick due to the temperature although I'm not sure how cold it has to be before it thickens up, was -4 here this morning and mine was working OK with its multi-purpose grease that I used on the last service.

aceb yes Red LED stays on when overcurrent or reach limits, I think i have seen this Green LED on and Red LED on meaning it has reached overcurrent so that's why i have to reset motor to get it working again.Only one way to find out and that's to change dish over to the lighter smaller Gibertini 1m dish on this motor then it will probably never get stuck again.

I am sorry to say but that dish is way too heavy for a diseqc motor of any kind no matter what it says on the box, anything above the Triax 1.1m and you really do need an actuator and polar mount combination, I know it shows it on the youtube presentation on the CDtronix website the 1.2m on a diseqc motor but this is at ground level and IMHO just marketing blurb to show people it working on a £40 motor.

you hit the nail on the head go back to the Gibertini 1m and you wont have a problem

Instead of changing motor over to a polar mount and actuator and paying for install i have decided to keep it as is Everything is working perfect and if the motor gets stuck again its just a case of resetting motor on ladders thanks for all advice on this matter.:D

Excellent, a proper "Yorkshire" solution: Welcome on board.

Found out last night in the receiver menu press ok to disable limits message limits are now disabled press ok .Now there is no problem with motor getting stuck its working perfect moving dish to all receivable satellites. So it seems this dish is not too heavy after all for this motor. :)

Very easy to inadvertently set software limits - yours is the second reported case this week.

Good job you took the Yorkshire approach earlier and decided to spend no money!

I have a TD110 on a DiSEqC Motor: When it was up on the wall I had no confidence in the ability of the motor to cope if the loading were to increase due to wind.

But it's now on a patio mount and presents no worries.

Gotta agree with Tivu here we have yet to see any more of those strong winds back yet but as soon as they return if they do i would also not like to see what kind of wind loading that dish will have to bear, Just hope that Navigator motor's is up to it.

This is the new Navigator motor with metal gears so i too hope that it is strong enough to last with strong to gale force winds. All i can do is move dish as far east as motor will go away from full force of wind from side wall. This dish is on front of house above front door quite high up,Old dish was on side wall of house so took full force of wind when it was there.
There seems to be some kind of technical fault motor works fine then after a while all of a sudden motor gets stuck on Atlantic Bird 5 west.To fix this go to receiver menu press ok to disable limits then go to reference and hey presto everything is fine again with motor. At least i don't have to go on the ladders to reset motor anymore so that's good. :) I put this all down to the motor just losing its memory after a while,Have to say i am still very happy with this new dish and motor. :)

Can confirm that the motor only loses its memory when satellite receiver has been in standby or unplugged.Had receiver on night and day recording movies and after 24 hours motor was still working perfect moving to all satellite positions with no loss of memory. :)

That does not sound right to me i have a Dark motor and can leave it without power for days on end and when i switch to it i have never once seen it lose any sat positions, something is not quite right with that motor.
