My Satellite Setup
toppy 5800, toshiba hdtv, xbmc, 8Mb adsl, dm500s 80cm motor + 60cm 13/19/28

Heres some pics of my current setup

It consists of a 80cm triax mounted on a diseqc motor with a smart titanium LNB.

And a 60cm fleabay special, with 3 LNBs for 13E/19E/28E, using a triax multi-lnb holder. All mounted on the side of a old desk and placed on the roof...before you laugh, it survived the winds the other day without moving at all :-).
These are all linked to the four ports of a diseqc switch and downstairs into my dm500s. Saves waiting for the motor to get to 13/19/28...

I had intended on only having 2 LNBs on the 60cm, but the signal was sooo strong that i added one for 28E. I can actually get 5E/7E as well but I ran out of diseqc ports :-). Next is to replace them with quads to feed some more receivers...

Indeed, there's no limit to our members' imagination when it comes to ways of installing dishes.

We have guys with them perched patio chairs and tables, even old tyres!

You ask a good question, let me explain my crooked logic.
To get a good signal on multiple satellites you need to track the arc across the sky with the dish. i.e. hotbird is higher in the sky than astra 2. Therefore, for the best alignment the 13E LNB has to be lower on the dish than the astra 28E one. If you look at the dish photo you'll see i've angled the LNB multi-bracket quite a bit down on the 13E LNB, which works brilliantly. Unfortunately, because its mounted on the piece of wood there isn't any clearance for the coax cable above the floor. So i simply turned them upside down, which is no problem for a H-V LNB :-)

The only downside to having multiple LNBs on a small dish is that they are very close to each other, hence the alps LNBS...(o, and the weak LNB pole which is creaking under the weight)

On the dreambox i get average 90%/91% for 28E, 88%/90% for 19E, and 80%/85% for 13E. Never had any breakup of picture since I set it up 2 weeks ago.

I was surprised myself getting all three at such good signal quality. It makes a huge difference having the 13E lower and 28E higher.
 
That 60cm dish looks like a Lidl kit dish (receiver, dish, twin LNB, cable, beeper etc), I only got one of those kits for the twin LNB originally, but decided that the receiver was so good for the price I'd keep the receiver too and sold the rest of the kit on ebay, and according to the buyer, it went to France!!! :D

The 60cm was only 6 quid on fleabay (£15 including postage).
Came with a generic LNB, dish and the wall bracket in the picture. Bit of a bargain i reckin. Hell of a lot better than mesh dishes i've had in the past.

Bargain!!! The complete kit was about £60 last year, but it looks like your dish is the 2005 Comag version, as last year's was Silvercrest branded and had 2 holes punched into the top of the outer rim, which I guess is used for securing the dish or for raising it up... :D

I have 2 mesh dishes myself, one I went to Blackburn for (60cm) and the other I got from a skip (~80cm), I've not used either outdoors yet, but the 80 is in good condition, the 60 was brand new old stock though... :)

Why dont you just slide the dish up on the bracket?

Less chance of the rain getting in, with the lnb`s the right way around.:)

Theres still not enough room for the quad LNBs I intend to put on it. Plus, its a bit more secure with the LNBs resting on the floor :-)
 
I always had the LNBs on my indoor dishes upside down (excluding my old minidish), never did them any harm, but then again, they weren't out in the rain, but the condensation on the windows could get a bit bad... :D
 
Decided to mod my 55cm Fibo to Diseqc motor, Usals is a big attraction and on a small dish will be plenty strong enough.

Also using a waveguide to enable use of Inverto twin, upside down ;)

Whilst the motor was in bits to enable mods, I put sound deadening pads inside the casing, don't know if it will make any difference, haven't got to the point of mounting it yet :confused:

You`r lnb`s are sheltered by the mount:cool:
