Hi everyone. Hope you like my setup.

Bit small isn't it, ah that's better.
:D

Very nice rato2, but don't your receivers get hot with the doors shut !

Nope, it's all opened in the back. It was made so air can circulate freely and not make it an oven! I have on the upper left side on the wall an air conditioner that can "point" a breath of cool air to that area when things get a little stuffy! Never needed to though. The plasma screen is the one that "throws up" the most heat (35 to 38ºC.),but it's always directed upwards.

Very nice indeed, have you got a monobloc lnb on that dish.

Yup! An Inverto 0.4dB lnb.

Very nice indeed and you just managed to fix the dish and lnb/arm onto your very small veranda. I suppose that you are lucky that you are not on the other side of your apartment block.

We, over here in Suffolk, are at present enjoying a nice warm sunny day. Hardly a cloud in the sky, nearly as nice as being abroad:) .

Best wishes JMC

Lucky on one side, not so lucky on the other. I can't pick up anything on the East side, due to the fact the apt. block is pointing to about 10 to 15º SE. So from the other side I can't receive nothing that I can legally put a dish (would stick out to far). So I'm waiting for an answer from the apt. tentants for an installation on the roof. The dish I have is barely visible from the ground, and does not stick out of the varanda. All nice & legal!

BTW,here in Portugal today is "another" hot & sunny & clear day with a 30ºc temp (sorta' like the weather in Toronto, Can., ...NOT!).
Cheers!

Nice set up rato2.

I was over in Alhos d'Agua in May this year and had a look round Monchique. Lots of charred woodland then so I guess things are even worse now. A real shame.

Yes, it is. The Arrabida Natural Park right by Setubal has not suffered yet this year. It was severly charred last year. It is hot and dry over here!

Sorry, had to edit the pic so it could fit. See it now? I will update in the future after I'm authorised to set up more dishes on the rooftop of my apt.

LOL It's bid0n that dug up this thread, should've known ;)

I'm glad you did though as it's always great to see how dishes you've got (or are interested in/curious about) perform and look in the real world!

That'll be the Digidish 33, not the 45 (unless he has a giant balcony and patio door!) :-rofl2

*Cor I must've imagined a patio door, as you can't see one!

Anythin' w/ more than a 48dB. EIRP footprint. 50dB. + 52dB are the best way to get a good signal on any weather conditions. 48dB. loses it on a cloudy day! You should consider always a good LNB to combine with the 33 dish. It's more than adaquate for Hispasat signals here in Portugal.

 hmm... sorry but i've never really paid much attention to footprints... as i've got a small porty dish and pickup a lot of stuff which would seem barely possible to, from looking at footprints...

so do you fancy giving details of what you can receive from E-W? (or W-E, i'm not that fussy :))

Basically I get 30ºW and since it´s on my "varanda", I dont have a very wide angle. I can get 15ºW(50dB EIRP) & and 12.5ºW(48dB EIRP) and that's about it. I'm cut off at about due South because of the wall of my apartment(see pic).

Rato,

Nice setup. I tried to order a Hummy HDCI-2000 through Servicos Tecnicos but their sold out ;-( (The wifes happy though). Im going to upgrade the dish this weekend (The wife wont be happy). Im on the north side of the Tejo and hopefully be able to get the Premiere and BBC HD. Should look sweet on the 42" Sammy. Do you experience any week signals or pixelation with the 1.25 dish?

By the way did you spend any time in Toronto? I was looking through some of your old threads and you talk about it?

Regards/Cumps,
Jagost02
