hi -
12575 V 3378 3/4 id -- Mana sat 1 is good
but they all rise and fall in strength especialy in cloudy or wet weather
the one i watch on this sat is 12722 V 26657 1/2 id -SANI (SABC News International) -this is rather weak on 80 cm (drops out in poor weather)

Hi Cocker (Lee)

I'm very tempted to try the Inverto Black Ultra, mainly because of your results on 7W. Was the screenshot taken during the afternoon when the signal is less strong? Also, what were your strength/quality readings with your old LNB?

I can receive most verticals with a quality reading of 45 - 50+ during the day, even getting some stronger horizontals up to 42Q when it's a clear day. I'm hoping for an improvement which will let me get a lock on a H during the day.

nelson_b, cheers will give it a try when the weather perks up.

sonnetpete, the snapshots were taken at 1300hrs with some fine rain that gets you wet ;-) I did not take any readings from my old LNB but if the weather is good at the weekend I will put it back on and do some comparisons.

I'm now even more impressed! I'm guessing that for the Nilesat footprint, a 1m dish in your location is a rough equivalent to my 88cm further south where I am, so to get a Nilesat TP with that quality reading and in drizzle is a good result. A comparison with your old lnb would be really useful and much appreciated.

Finally got my 24inch t&ks, £16.99 from the local aerial shop. Now got to wait until it stops raining :-(
 
Got me T&K brackets on, but having a few problems. I broke one of the clamps holding the motor to the dish so drilled a hole and popped a bolt to it. Seems to do the trick until i can get a new one.
Also I can get 57e-15w fine but if I try to get 18w and onwards I need to manually adjust the dish elevation upwards. I tripled checked everything to make sure everything is level, the only thing I can think of if I screwed the motor clamp too much and it bent the pole.

Anyone have any ideas?

Motor is too far West. Mark the dish clamp and motor stub with a pencil. Move the dish West around the motor stub, probably less than a millimetre. Move the motor East around the pole by the same amount to cancel.

I would of said a set of 18 inch TK could of done the job just as good with less overhang. Regarding the West satellites, check the usual, all is plumb and motor inclination scale setting etc.

18inch were a bit to small,was only a few mm when the dish was at 53W, but the 24inch have miles of room. Shame there is not 20inch brackets :-(
