Woooo! It's up !!!!

Motorised 1m dish installed by 'Channel Hopper' :)

65cm fixed dish on 19.2e for analogue :D

Gets Badr-4 at a cool 60% quality ;)

Ahem, just to clarify, I did not install the smaller dish, nor any of the cabling from the dishes.

Nice install & setup dvmedia :)

:-rofl2

Glad you said that, as I can now unbite my tongue and say, The cabling looks a bit untidy.:-rofl2

Washing line springs to mind :)

Of Italian decent may be kinder

My cabling is amazing ;)

Although we did have a lot of issues with my Technomate.. which we have discovered has some sort of err.. fault with the USALS system.. I'm sure CH can explain further!

Some b****** on eBay sold me a duff box! :-Nooo

I'm interested :)

The TM5200 would load up USALs settings and send them to the motor when in install mode (at least most of the time), but when in channel, or satellite mode, it would conveniently forget to send those commands to the dish. It was rather erratic in when it sent the dish to a particular satellite, and then be OK after switching off from the mains.

I had thought the cable might have something to do with it, but the positioning was accurate whenever it did move.

might be an idea to try updating the software on the receiver ?

Tried that, twice, while I was there, original and patched.

Got a Technomate 5600 today.

Identical issue.

Never managed to get it to work on 42e, 13e, 39e and various others at all.

Right this moment it seems to be ignoring 4.8e, 5w, 15w and 26e (when it has gone to those before).. (wont even work in motorised installation mode)

EITHER..

There's a problem with the motor or cable,
or ALL Technomate 5000 series are crap with USALS....

Haven't had any problems with any of the 5000 series with these motors and others.

More than likely a possible motor fault in this case.

I had a problem with a TM on a motorised dish, but it turned out that there was nothing wrong with the receiver at all, the connections were shoddy. I replaced the whole lot and it worked fine.

On the advice of Channel Hopper, I have ordered some new coax cable... :) Fingers crossed that replacing the cable works or I think I might scream!!! :p

yes, cheaper option to try the coaxial and connectors first. Fit high qual compression or crimp F connectors.

Try not to make it look like a washing line next time.:-rofl2

Just to clarify - I did offer this as my first question to the o/p but it was politely declined, including drilling a neat hole through the wall as opposed to shutting it through the window frame.
Tha cable also has a couple of joins on its way back to the room (nothing to do with me - just to clarify)

Yes CH, didn't think for one minute that would of been the work of a pro :)

Hearing about the joins and possibly damaged cable, it could well be the cause of the problems.
